Indeed, a fine film. You know that the older Colombian guy from New York in the film actually works from New York to help get the bodies of mules that died while trying to traffic get back to Colombia so the families can have funerals.

This is a great film shot in Colombia and New York by an English director with a fantastic cast of unknowns.Events conspire to lead young Maria into becoming a "mule" for a cartel. It's a sobering tale yet non-judgemental in it's views of the mules, the big men, the middle men and the customs agents involved in this never ending cycle of risk taking and profit and death.

Interesting. It is certainly not a pleasant way to die, a massive cocaine overdose. Though the film doesn't take an actual standpoint on drugs, I felt it conveyed brilliantly how the existing controls only serve to perpetuate the cycle of criminality and unfortunate deaths.
