granted i didn't search the site extensively... this computer is just too slow to do it!
But i can't find where it shows how the bible can be silly.

Perhaps you can provide a more precise link?

and the second one didn't seem to want to load!

Private Baldrick: Except, this is sort of a war, isn't it?
Captain Blackadder: That's right. There was one tiny flaw in the plan.

Can you provide a more precise link or not?

Evilbible .com. O the joys. Go back a few months: this website has even been bashed by people who enjoy bashing the bible on che-lives.

    for example:
    "do not ignore the ot".
Why is this one of your fav's?

I see massive flaws in his argument.
He shows no understanding of the concept of two covenants. The first one, and then a second brought by jesus. Christians are followers of christ.
It isn't all just ignored anyway - main principles are maintained.

However - their is a difference in "style" if you like. This is seen by looking at how jesus interprets/demonstrates the ot law should be followed. The bible contains the accusations made by jews against jesus that he was not following the ot. It also contains his reply :P

I suggest you read the bible more carefully: that is if you really don't want to seem like a kid who just wants to bash chrisitans because "its cool".

Your hatred towards other beliefs are just as disgusting as the american government viewing the third world as expendable. Same shit different toilet. If you don't think the 'radical' community on either side has unfounded beliefs than you are insane. Although I disagree with many religious beliefs myself, I do not feel the need to essentially spit on them. Maybe this thread is just a rant to express frustration which I suppose is healthy. Like vomititing.

    Religion deserves no respect.
To believe in superstion is fine. Whatever. I don't give a fuck.
But to indoctrinate others with a dogmatic set of laws is unacceptable.

They are not forcing anybody to join their religion. They may talk to someone about it, and ask them if they're interested in learning more, but the left and right spectrums in politics do the same thing. I do however disagree with those that use violence or anger on someone who differs from their religion or political beliefs. But once again, this is seen in both religion, and in the right and left spectrum of politics all the time.

How is establishing that you will burn in agony for eternity if you don't do what we say, not a violent act?

It is an infringement of the peoples' rights to allow power-hungry clerics to go around using superstition and scare tactics to tell folks what to do. And being successful.

I like it because it points out that Yeshuah himself was in support of the brutal OT laws.

In any case, the events were recorded some decades after his death, rendering the record quite unreliable. This should be enough to reject the bible as a source of guidance in life, but some are obviously quite content to follow the alleged social mores of a reforming rabbi that have been through the medieval wringer. Whatever.

What massive flaws? please point them out.

Just out of interest, don't you ever wonder why a supposedly loving god created a universe in which he knew millions would suffer?

Please explain this in your own words. I think you are greatly confused. Like i said - jesus himself was accused of breaking the ot laws. I'm just repeating myself again!
He shows no understanding of the concept of two covenants. The first one, and then a second brought by jesus. Christians are followers of christ.

If you simply read his response in the bible for yourself, you will be able to see the flaws in evilbible for yourself.

Actually you are probably (we can never be sure in history - especially ancient history) incorrect.
Some Mark and matthew manuscripts have been dated between 50 and 70 AD (by advanced forensic technology) - well within the lifetime of eyewitnesses [source: The Sunday Telegraph Review: March 27th 2005].

What massive flaws? please point them out.
    Read my post again.

lol, i think this has been covered elsewhere...

And clearly you think the positives outwiegh the negatives in life. Otherwise you would have taken your own life, being a rational being and all.

It isn't a violent act because it is the people's choice to listen to them. The masses which you have so much faith in, the same masses that will lead a revolution choose to consent to these dogmatic and irrationally pompous claims. They are not saying I will shoot you in the head if you do not do what we say, This is generally politics' field of expertise. In fact restricting these clerics right to free speech would be infringing on the people's rights because you would essentially be restricting an opposing ideology's right to speech. No competition, no worries.

just out of interest... what did you actually have in mind when you said "suffering"?

What are you talking about? Do you honestly want him to give you examples of pain, suffering? They probaly don't exist in your fantasy Christian world, but they do in the REAL world. Probaly high on LSD.
Let no one charge that socialists have arrayed class against class in this struggle. That has been done long since in the evolution of capitalist society. One class is small and rich and the other large and poor....One consists of capitalists and the other of workers. These two classes are at war. Every day of peace is at the expense of labor. There can be no peace and good will between these two essentially antagonistic economic classes. - Debs
