Okay, so my high school puts out a literary magazine every year, and I was thinking of submitting some kind of communist/leftist essay, but I haven't the faintest idea of where to start with the TOPIC; I have no idea what would interest high school kids in the rhelm of Marxism, and also something that would be condensable enough to be no more than three pages.

Any ideas??? The deadline for submission is December 1st, so I've got to get a'crackin' pretty soon

Talk about free education: that would appease the people who attend to discuss post-secondary education.

Dissuade them from the tainted Bourgeois idea of communism.

Let them know communism has never existed. Only forms of socialism has. But most Communists look towards that, because it's the closest we've come to achieving communism.

Those are some bigger arguments. I was thinking about doing the same type of thing for my university news paper, so I got a bunch of ideas in my head.

You could even go into your opinions of communism. A personal touch would help snag the readers, rather than a dry, Marx said this...Engels said this... You know what I mean?

I was indeed going to think about talking about theoretical communist education, but if I did that, I could ONLY do that, pretty much. Because I have such a limited amount of space to write with, I don't want to try and "overload" these kids' brains with quotes, theories, formulas, information, facts, stats, and so on. I don't want to try and spend so much time on what communism really is, but I think that would be a good place to start.

If I go into communist education without talking about what communism is, it'd raise alot of questions, for sure. <sigh> But it's so mundane to go through the same refutations over and over and over again as to why the USSR wasn't a communist society, and explain what Marxism is, and everything else...

Meh. This is frustrating =/

Well i think you have to make clear to yourself what you want to achieve. Do you want a lot of students to be interested, you might not get into the theory to deep. For a lot of people that is to complicated, or not interesting enough.
If you want to get a lot of people interested for the first time, you should start on easy way, and talk about subjects they like. But on your commie way.
On the other hand, if you want students who might be a little interested, to get a better idea about marx and marxism or communism, then it is an idea to get deeper into the theory. Some students will get scared away, but the others might be stimulated to get deeper into the stuff.

So it is mainly a cause of what you want to achieve. You have to make clear for who you write, and with what reason. Maybe it is an idea to make a combination of a marx for beginners and a marx for people who are already interested.....

It's a good plan. I got my paper to do an article against the drug war. Try and get some people to make it slowly lean to the left.

Meh. I would take over the school, all the students(outside the orthodox nerds) would admire that.
