being vegetarian ive been against maccas for some time (seing as i cant with shit there - the chicken fat ice creams, the beef fat fries, numerous burgers etc), besides animal treatment, enviromental issues, concerns the menu, and the advertising propaghanda blasted to children, there is the treatment of their workers and others.

At a meeting of my local socialist party yesterday someone gave a talk about the food industry and capitalism. What you have to realise (which I always forget) is that McDonalds is an organisation who's sole purpose is to make money. They're not interested in feeding people - they just want to make money out of a human need. The market for them was created by human nature - they, and other food organisations are exploiting the human need for food. McDonalds put as much salt and sugar into their 'food' as they can get away with to get you hooked on it, so you keep coming back for more. They (in the UK anyway) aren't allowed to say their burgers are meat anymore - they have to admit that it is a dort of beef-pate. They are just making food for as little money as possible, and selling it for as much as they can, which I think is extremly wrong. I would even go as far to say that it is evil to exploit a need of survival like that.

I quite agree.
In fact, that seems to be the case with nearly all "fast food" chains...since these places cater to the working class and the very poor, they have zero incentive to provide a decent meal. You might just as well eat the containers.
If your job forces you to eat a "quick lunch", I suggest looking for a small Asian place near your workplace--call ahead & they can have it ready for you to pick up.
At least then you will be getting real food.

McDonalds are sick people. The only reason that they are able to stay in business is by fooling people, giving 'toys' to children, and the fact that their food is cheap and fast. If a small restaraut opened and sold the food they did they would be out of business in a week.

how many bakeries are open at 1 am ? when its late and I want to eat and I really want to eat Mcdonalds or someplace similar are the only places open.
and just for your information buying a coke from a grocery store fountain or in a small local resteraunt is going to have just as much sugar as McDonalds, we all get the same syrup packages.
I actually work in a place that does that, Steak and Shake, we have china, waitresses and somewhat expensive food compared to McDonalds but not worth the price.

Look at their advertisement for children. If I dressed up in a clown suit and tried to attract and hang out with children, and have them sit on my lap, people would think I was a pedophile.
Seriously though. Fast food places don't even follow most health codes. I've got severe food poisoning when I was younger from eating fast food. And just a few minor cases of upset stomach and diarhea more recently from eating fast food. The whole situation is corperations. I mean look at the olympics. McDonalds advertising everywhere. And how many athletes eat their food? Probably very few; as their diets are very strict. Not to mention McDonalds and other non-healthy food distributors are making poor people obese. They prove cheap deals where you can "supersize" combos for cheap; and for somebody who has to work 60 hours a week to make ends-meat, quick meals like that are made appealing to them. Those are just a few things we discussed in my Physical Education seminars last year in university.
"I'm Loving it", their idiotic slogan, is an anagram for ailing vomit. I can smell the irony from here!
