Seems most people who wear them don't know who he is, I asked one guy and he told me that Che killed Communists.

On a side note, I found a Che poster in the bushes by Tower records last night. It was unrapped, in a bag, with a receipt for 120 dollars worth of cds.

I will admit, Che's spinning in his grave right nnow. But there are those who do only wear the shirts because they look cool, but what about the others who wear it to make a statement? Like me, I admire Che and what he did, I may not know that much about everything he did, but what i know about i like, and I'm expanding my knowledge, so those of you who think that "only posers wear em." have respect for what you don't know, because you dont know everything about a person, just by what shirt he or she wears,

Was helping teach economics to a group of high school students, we talked about humanist/marxist versus capitalist perspectives and had the
students think about the subjects and do reflective writing.

The student wearing the Che shirt was the most capitalist, most competitive and the most into private property.

I was not allowed to question him on his choice of heroes but was saddened by this, as we were keeping our views silent.

Luckily another student in a plain shirt took up the banner though under his own understanding and defended his views against the rest of the class

Sums me up well. People have said I don't "look" Communist, most days you'll see me in a pair of second hand jeans with a plain shirt. Perhaps I should get a Hammer and sickle pin in order to better look the part. And though it's often dificult defending your views to a whole class of people, there's some joy in it, and every person you manage to convince, much less persuade to investigate communism, is a victory.

People in Che tshirts, 99% of the time, don't know who he is, are capitalist, and are right wing, so I rarely attempt any leftist discussion with them.

One of the best one i heard was when i was at a friends and his dad said who is that rocker and i said its che, the mother said yeah thats che guvara a freedom fighter . The the dad said jokingly arrh so he is a terriost soon you will be in a terriost group and we laughed. Then his mum said nah he is a freedom fighter fought for the people of cuba he was anti fidel and fought for the americans.

So as you see some people have a little knowledge of him but it is really twisted

i don't know many people wearing his t-shirts or necklaces with his face on it who know who he was...it's just kind of sad i think...
his face grew up to fashion...in germany there are two tv-soaps where younger people wearing his face on their chests...if you also use his face for tv it's very sad because those soaps are bullshit...and you'll never hear another word about him or anything else...just his face on a t-shirt...hey man that's fashion!!

I have a che T-Shirt, and yes it is clearly becoming a fassion for people to know it. But I have asked quite a few people in my school if they knew who he was. Most just know his name. While others know quite a bit about him and arent interested in what he has done. So I guess it's a good thing I asked these people because I have made some new friends

I actually found this site a year and a half ago because I had just seen Jay Z wearing a Che shirt and I was royally pissed off...lol My brother owns 2 shirts, and I own 1 shirt...we bought them at this small independent vendor in Berkeley. I know a lot of ppl wear him cuz its "cool" but I don't think it's such of a bad thing because it'll make ppl more curious and it gives him more exposure. People will actually want to find out who he was, and why he is so popular. Since I live in a really progressive/leftist area in the U$A, its no big deal, but I have been complimented a couple times by strangers. Once by a cuban old guy and another by a really massive hungarian-type guy with a huge accent..."nice churt." My brother doesn't even bother to explain who he is anymore if they seem totally unreceptive...he told an Ambercrombie and Fitch guy that he was a mexican actor just to not even waste his breath...lol

dats jus stupid...quit being so effen ignorant...

they may end up being embarrased from their ignorance and end up researching him, on the rare occasion...which may be a good ting..
