More than half the world is behind the first world in regards to technological adancement and accessability.
Sadly the first introduction to modern technology to most is our terrible weaponry.
So what is it that you wish they would have access to first?

An idiot can ask so many questions it will take years to reply. So if I don't reply to your posts it's probably why
Yah I thought Anti-biotics, but the internet is pretty great.
And I don't know if you've heard about this program but they've been providing lights to the rural third world, even that has had a profound effect.

If I was a pre-columbian American indian I would tell you to stick your antibiotics and your internets up your ass.
"The dogs in Pavlov's laboratory had been conditioned for hundreds of hours. They were fully trained and domesticated. Then there was a flood in the basement. And you know what happened? They forgot all of their training in the blink of an eye. We should be able to do at least that well. I am staking my life on it..."--John Zerzan
Our greatest technological discovery? I would have to say the telescope. Without it, we'd still be mired in creationist theory. Given that they've just found a planet that lies in close enough proximity to it's star and is not gaseous, and hence could well support life...

Adiel: How can you defend a country where 5 percent of the people control 95 percent of the wealth?
Lisa: I'm defending a country where people can think and act and worship any way they want!
Adiel: Cannot!
Lisa: Can to!
Adiel: Cannot!
Lisa: Can to!
Homer: Please, please, kids; stop fighting. Maybe Lisa is right about America being the land of opportunity, maybe Adiel has a point about the machinery of capitalism being oiled with the blood of the workers.

The modern 'multi-network', comprising of electricity, running water/sewage treatnent, phone/internet, and a decent public transport system.
These can be provided to many people at once, although initial tooling-up costs are likely to be high.

I love being so far from my loved ones that I have to talk to them without being able to touch them. It's also cool that we've fucked everything up so bad that we need to treat our water and that there are so many of us in so little space that we have to actually think about what to do with our shit. Another cool thing is being holed up in our houses all day with fake lighting so that we don't have to see the sun. Fuck the sun. It's also really rad to be sitting on a subway travelling from one artificially lit cave to another with a hundred other people you don't talk to feeling the heavy loneliness of a complete lack of community crushing in on you as some dirt covered child tries to sell you keychains so he can eat.
Try not to look him in the face or it'll be harder to ignore that you're dead.

Unless you have arms that are miles long I think you would use the public transport system. Duuuuh.
I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to drink from a river in which I've just washed my dirty clothes or had a bath in. But whatever floats your boat.
I don't suppose you like finding turds on the beach either?
Only in the ant/arctic circle does the sun shine 24/7. I suppose pitch-black streets would make the women feel really safe eh?
Don't you realise it is capitalism that is the alienating factor in modern society and not technological developments? Modern technology has the capability to make everyone on this still green and pleasant sphere happy and have their material needs acommodated. The reason it doesn't happen is because of capitalism, which places the dollar above the human.
Short of direct physical alteration through genetics or cyborging, technology will not change who you are. You will feel love, hate, fear, anger and joy, you will still listen to music, read literature, and appreciate art.

Maybe things like famine, being eaten alive by wild animals, being able to get away with murder due to there being no forensics, having your children die of curable diseases, your teeth rotting away due to no dental care, frostbite, floods, malaria from the floodwaters, you get my meaning?

i think the best thing about our modern society is the basic sanitation - clean water, food, and dealing with sewage.
the thing we can best learn from LEDCs is the sense of community that many have, and communism should help to encourage this.

Access to infomation is one of the most important things. So I would say give them radio, and TV and Internet. But we need something to power them, solar power and wind power (and small scale hydro). These are what we should be giving to people.
sense of community? dont be so sure, i mean half the african countries have government troops and rebels who rather than working for a greater good spend their entire lives knocking the shit out of each other and make life worse for the innocents.

Have you ever read anything by anybody believable about indeginous cultures and pre-colonial living? Try it. Then you can actually talk about these things from an intelligent, informed perspective, instead of just constantly spouting, using trite Victorian rhetoric, the blindly fascisticimperialist party line that for so long has justified the system you claim to hate.

Victorians believed that brown water was 'healthy' With your advocation of the abolition of advanced technology and the water treatment that comes with it, I'd say your view is more 'Victorian' than mine.
