What does everyone think about cryptozoology, (the study of un-discovered animals). This isn't like aliens, or vampires. The obvious ones are North American Apes (Napes for short, these are bogfoot, sasquatch, skunk ape) the Yeti, Nandi Bears, Lake monsters, Thylacines, Thunderbirds.

Anyway, heres my breakdown on a few.

The Loch Ness monster: I'd like to believe this one, I love giant reptiles, but sadly, there isn't enough food in Loch Ness to feed a family of giant reptiles, it's too cold, and too many "pictures"
are just waves, seals, and out right hoaxes.

Napes: These come in many sizes and despcriptions are often different. However, they gerneraly are seen in wooded areas, or in Florida, the Skunk Ape is usualy spotted in swampy areas. I like to believe that one of them is real, most likely if there is a Nape it would be in the Pacific Northwest/Canada, this area has vast unexplored forests and has consistent, frequent sightings. On a high note, I have heard stories from people I trust with my life about bigfoot sightings in Ohio. On a down note, I think that most sightings are lies, mis-identifications, and hoaxes.

The Yeti: The Yeti is very different than Napes, The best evidence is that sveral hair samples have been found that are very close to human in DNA make up, but don't matrch enough to be a human. To me at leats, this points to an ape that is closer to us than chimps.

the Thylacine: The thylacine was an Australian carnivore that went exticnt in the last century, however, sightings continue to this day, many photos exist, foot prints. I regared this one as being very rare, but still out there.

Thunderbirds: A lot of people say that they have seen gigantic birds of prey at some point. I think that they have, I have seen turkey vultures that are nearly twice the size of normal ones. The problme with thunderbirds is that a warm blooded carnivore would be out in the open almost all day while it hunted, birds of prey need to eat a lot of food. If they existed, they would be spotted more often.

Megalania: One of my favorite cryptids, A 15-30 foot Australian monitor lizard that went extict as little as 40,000 years ago, mening that Aborigines would have seen them, eaten them, get eaten by them, and possibly drove them to extinction. Several herpitologists have reported seeing them in the Outback. A large reptile like this would have more than enough prey to survive, desert to hide in, and footprints continue to show up that are to big to be anoy other species of monitor.

if anyone responds to this I'll post more of my ideas.
The political spectrum in the United States is so narrow and so far to the right that any "election" or "debate" is simply two aristocrats trying to please the sheep who follow them blindly wherever the leader tells them to go.

Horseshit! Absolute rubbish! How can you proport to study something of which there are no known specimens, or even evidence for their existence. Man this science forum needs some serious help. People who follow cryptozoology are people who listen to Coast to Coast AM, yet lack the knowledge necessary to decipher fact from bullshit.
