ok so i know that in a communist govt, the govt regulates what u have (like wages, housing, cars, etc.). but do they also regulate personal items you want like cds, tvs, or even a guitar. are u allowed to have "stuff" i guess is what im asking. i would be fine with them regulating major things like houses but smaller items and misc. "stuff" i would probably have a problem with.

bascially in a communist goverment all of the houses are preperty of the goverment, once you die your house is for someone else, stuff like the house is goverments property.
the thing is that people has a wrong idea about communism, everyone doesent have the same exactly, let me explain:

the goverment provides equal housing for everyone, at the same time hospitals and education is free and goverment controlled, everyone has a job and gets paid exactly the same, so if the goverment provides all your basic need what you do with your money is your business and they cant controll it, the point is that they provide everyone the same possibilities to buy stuff by getting paid the same but someone might spend everything on drugs or in personal stuff or other may keep it and spend it later, so this way everyone has the same opportunities to buy stuff.

better now?

Amen. I hate when uneducated people try to educate even less educated people. Don't post answers in this forum anymore renwan, you should be the one asking the questions.

But anyway, in response to the innitial question:

In a truly communist society, there simply would be no personal property. Everything that you had would be the property of the people. Private property is a bourgeois institution. It's kinda a hard concept to grasp. Marx explains this, and other beginner communist theories in the Communist Manifesto, read it sometime.
These forums look strikingly similar to the albinoblacksheep forums...

Once you've read the manifesto, try doing some research on the gift economy

Many people say that this is the basis of how things would work in a communist world, given that money is intended to be abolished under Marxist ideals.

the goverment provides equal housing for everyone, at the same time hospitals and education is free and goverment controlled, everyone has a job and gets paid exactly the same, so if the goverment provides all your basic need what you do with your money is your business and they cant controll it, the point is that they provide everyone the same possibilities to buy stuff by getting paid the same but someone might spend everything on drugs or in personal stuff or other may keep it and spend it later, so this way everyone has the same opportunities to buy stuff.
This is a pretty accurate definition of socialism. Marx presented that the state should be abolished, and replaced with 'workers councils'. In other words those skilled at metal work would use a direct form of democracy to run their factory, and so on.

At least this was my interpretation of it.
Adiel: How can you defend a country where 5 percent of the people control 95 percent of the wealth?
Lisa: I'm defending a country where people can think and act and worship any way they want!
Adiel: Cannot!
Lisa: Can to!
Adiel: Cannot!
Lisa: Can to!
Homer: Please, please, kids; stop fighting. Maybe Lisa is right about America being the land of opportunity, maybe Adiel has a point about the machinery of capitalism being oiled with the blood of the workers.

i have a question. Who was the actual man Zapata? i know his legend spurred the Zapatista revolution, which leads me to beleive he fought for indigenous workers in some way, but i have always been cloudy on what the man actually did.

emilio zapata was the leader of the zapatista guerilla movement, fighting for the cause of his people, which was discriminated by the mexican goverment that persisted of spanish newfounders, etc. he was ambushed on the way to the mexican president to discuss matters, and murdered...

the mexicans used the zapatistas as cheap labour, and they were supressed their human rights...
