Kamo, Pentacost is 50 days after Easter, not 40 days, that's Lent.

From what i know the cuban people really dig their communsist or "communist" (to keep some people happy) system so after fidel and Raul are dead another leader will surely rise to power quicker than the americans can move out of their airbase

Raul is known to be even more revolutionary than Fidel, so i very much doubt that he will let america take over, but lets hope he does change things... and if Cuba is no threat to the USA, then why the embargo? if there was no sanctions, then im sure cuba could thrive as a growing socialist nation, BUT remember that in "commuinsim", money is only abolished when the world is a communist planet! (whens that gonna happen?) SO, for one country to survive, they need trading and tourism, and for that, the people need money, but not to have any real social value, but only the value of capital, which is made for the continueous development of real valuables, such as product, education and medical treatment. Lets just hope, that when the UN completely cuts the sanctions, Cuba will be in a right state to fix all that up.

When Castro dies Raul will take power in Cuba. But at the same time american imperialist soldiers stationed in Guantamano Bay will try to take powere from Raul Castro.

Technically I don't think Cuba is communist, but perhaps it could be said that it is socialist. That is, it actually has a government, and currency (like someone mentioned before) among other things.

Concerning the 'heir' to the Cuban leadership. No offence, but I would not want it to be Raul. Not that he is bad, or the matter, just that he is old and him taking control almost seems like hereditary rule (e.g. the DPRK, though Kim Ill Sung was a good leader).
I have also heard that his sons are a possibility. I am against this for the same reason. I think the best thing is to have a elected leader after say, a month or something (that is, a month after Fidel's death). For that time Raul can have temporary control.

But hey, if Raul or Fidel's sons are elected, I'm all for it!

From what i heard down there- fidel has look alikes, so there is a good chance that we wont know when he really dies, which i hope he never does but anyways, if he has look alikes, it'll be quite awhile.

Almost all communists agree that a communist society has no currency, at least as is related to wage labor. Cuba does not meet this commonly agreed upon criteria.
    NO THEY DONT.

THAT IS THE STUPIDEST IDEA I HAVE EVER READ. God, hate hearing that. Can you imagine trying to explain communism to someone if that were true? ''Um. There is no money...'' ....
If you 'communists' are going to say that about communism, then form your own political party. While it sounds like a good thing, a country with enough moral values to not need currency is well over 500 years away...I mean shit, people are still saying that Communism itself is a hard thing to achieve. THAT idea is a whole other story....

    He He He.....

Yes, Raul is next in line......If Fidel dies first. And yes he would win first elections.

Raul is loved by the people and respected by the party. He is a very pragmatic and smart man. He may not have the charisma of Fidel, But he is a damn good leader and a true man of the people. Many folks know him personally throughout the island as he works very closely with them on various projects.

But there is someone else being polished up for the figure head position. And I know who... and I ain't tellin'.... and you guys haven't even thought of it yet.

I wish it were going to be Juan Almeida. I think he would be a great choice. But he is nearly as old as those guys so......

As for an invasion at Fidel's death... I think that is a possibility. If nothing else an invasion by Gusanos. I think that the CUban people will kick their ass. I for one will join the defence.

I think the gusanos may be shallow enough to think that the Revolution somehow lives and dies with Fidel. They are in for a big surprise.

If you do indeed know than what do you gain by keeping your knowledge to yourself?

But, I believe we are underestimating the U.S. and Bush. This is the man who put Cuba on the "Axis of Evil." The U.S. has been knowen to rig elections aswell. I'd hate to see it all go away but, I doubt the Cuban revolution will live after Castro.

Che was a stalinist, too. In any event, it's not up to any of us who aren't Cuban.
