    FASCISM:
what it is and how to fight it

There have been a growing number of racist and anti-Semitic attacks in the city and around the country. The Aryan Nations are opening a Toronto chapter, in the west end, neo-nazi skinheads have beaten up people of colour and attacked hip hop clubs. In the east end a Jewish couple was forced to move after repeated harassment. There have been attacks on synagogues and Jewish schools and cemeteries in Toronto, Montreal and Oshawa. Muslims and people of Middle Eastern origin (or even those who “look” Middle Eastern) have been the target of racial profiling and abuse as the national security state extends its tentacles in the aftermath of 9/11. Come out for a discussion about the origins and role of fascism in capitalist society, recent developments and how we can organize to fight neo-nazis now, before they can grow.

    Featuring speakers from:

    Anti-Racist Action

    Young Left

    Socialist Alternative

    Coalition Against War & Racism

    Using Trotskyist titles these days...
There were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror... --- Mark Twain

If you look at the endorsing organizations, you will see that infact one of them is Trotskyite... That is the Socialist Alternative - http://www.socialistalternative.ca - which is infact the main organizer of this forum. Also, if you look at the Rebel Youth Network/Young Left website - http://rebelyouth.ca - and read our program/literature, etc., you will see that we are a group of Revolutionary Leftists, or Scientific Socialists; and membership is open to all who fall under that catagory.

Young Left is not a political party, we are a mass organization. Rebel Youth Network is an All-Youth Anti-Imperialist United Front.

It is not the job of a mass organization or an untied front to act as a vanguard of the working class and lead the masses to state power; that is the job of a Marxist-Leninist Party.

In my opinion, there is such a Party; that party is the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) - http://cpcml.ca - which I am a member of.

In YL we have people who are NDP, CPC, and CPC(ML), and even one member who is a Trot. We all work together as Revoloutionary Youth.

Thanks for the information. I always thought YL was anti-Trotskyist, my apologies.

    You're welcome.

We actually do have an anti-trotskyist pamphlet on our website, which we never actually printed hardcopies of, and the only reason I scanned the thing is because it is an old 1970's CPC pamphlet that I found at an old bookstore, and I wanted to rip off the CPC... It's actually a very revisionist viewpoint.

However, if you look at the readings section on our site - http://school.rebelyouth.ca - you will find links o some of Trotsky's works...

In short, there are many different opinions in YL.
