It's not too bad from a lw pov - but there is little substance within it. Might I ask the purpose of it? IE for what kind of class and what subject is this required?

Hi I haven’t posted in a while been busy, but I need a left wing point of view on a project I’m working on for a digital media class I’m taking. It’s a flash file I created about 9-11. I really want your honest reactions so pm me if you don’t want to post it publicly.
Basically I’m presenting this to a class full of left wingers and it would be nice to have an heads up on what their reactions are going to be.

Adiel: How can you defend a country where 5 percent of the people control 95 percent of the wealth?
Lisa: I'm defending a country where people can think and act and worship any way they want!
Adiel: Cannot!
Lisa: Can to!
Adiel: Cannot!
Lisa: Can to!
Homer: Please, please, kids; stop fighting. Maybe Lisa is right about America being the land of opportunity, maybe Adiel has a point about the machinery of capitalism being oiled with the blood of the workers.
Actually I'd prefer responses form American Commies no offense but my audience is going to be a class of American Commies. Not that I think there is much of a difference between Communists but a US lib might feel 9-11 a little differently.
The class is non-political it just deals with using Flash, to create multimedia content. The purpose of my movie is not advocacy; it’s not trying to prove a point. It’s just a reminder of the events of that time sort of a web memorial if you will.
I’m not concerned about my grade in the class, I am not asking for design help. I’m just curious how people respond emotionally to it? Where you moved? Did it make you angry? Or in your case ambivalent. But most of all please try and be specific; example “It made me feel uneasy because it casts Bush in a positive light”
Thanks

My first thought was "yuck" to tell you the truth....the beginning I liked because it focused on the events at hand, the occurance of that tragic day. It was a strange day in the U$, I have to admit it. All the flags bothered me, the NYPD/FDNY images bothered me, the word "slaughter" was way out of context and what did it in for me were the tears on Bush. This was a sad event and I feel for the families of those 3,000 ppl who perished, but its NOT ALL ABOUT THE U$A....Americans aren't better than the thousands of Iraqui's and Afghan's that the U$A has slaughtered (not out of context here) without a tear from Bush's eye. I feel for those ppl, but I also feel for the poor around the world who are dying SLOWLY and watching their children die SLOWLY from starvation and the effects of Globalization and Imperialism. I know 3,000 lives were lost, but then I think about the 75,000 ppl that the U$A/Bush/Reagan administrations helped literally SLAUGHTER during the 80's in El Salvador...and seriously, it has no comparison...and THATS something I won't forget either...

Good Luck.
1. People are smart. They always act in their best interest.
2. Innocent until proven guilty.
3. No person has the right to the fruits of another's labor.
4. Wealth does not just exist. It must be created.
It seemed like pretty unimaginitive... over done propaganda that we have seen over and over again, trying to yet again! use the tragic loss of my fellow New Yorkers as a method to push some political agenda.

I'm gonna withold judgement, I'll just give you some pointers instead.
First, hank's right, spelling mistake.
Second, crop all those pictures and get rid of the white borders, it's really annoying and sloppy to leave them there.
Third, get rid of the curly, fancy font at the end, it's offensive and way inappropriate considering the circumstances to use such a frizzy font. Especially such an ugly one. Stick to something more brutish and more bold, because this was a harsh and serious event, not a barbie commercial.
Fourth, make sure you get this on a cd or something, don't try to show it from the internet during class. Geocities sometimes blocks your account for an hour when too many people access your page, it would suck if you tried to put it up on the projecter only to find out geocities had shut you down.
What is the song playing in the background?
My recommendation is to swap that link for this one http://www.troho.com/issues/2003-10-14/chile.html
We've heard enough about 'Bush's Reichstag Fire'. As tragic as 9/11 2001 was, it's no more tragic as the countless other terrorist acts that have been commited. And American terrorism makes 9/11 look like a picnic. The Pentagon and the Twin Towers were symbols of American imperialism and power. Nothing justifies what happened though. But you can see why they were targetted. Can you explain why America bombed a Sudanese Medical plant, wiping out half of the country's medical supplies? Can you explain why America bombed the crap out of Afghanistan and Iraq because some Saudis bombed the US? I can't make sense out of 9/11, but I sure as hell can't make sense out of Amerikkka's stupid foreign policy!
Can I just ask. Why cant we forget?

To Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love
All pray in their distress;
And to these virtues of of delight
Return their thankfulness.
For Mercy has a human heart,
Pity a human face,
And Love, the human form divine,
And Peace, the human dress.
And all must love the human form,
In heathen, turk, or jew;
Where Mercy, Love, & Pity dwell
There God is dwelling too.</span>

My view of 9-11? Reactionary result to a consistent destruction of human life and rights across the face of the earth since the beginning of growth of Capitalism in America.

Some quotes on the range of my character:
". He's only around still because he's a member of the "old guard" who seems to have friends in high places."
-CubanFox
“I couldn't care less if he's the highest quality posted on the board. The guy goes out of his way to be unpleasant to anyone who "dares" to disagree. This is not some one off event, he was only let back in because he promised he had reformed. He lied then, and you lot gave him the benefit of the doubt, now your going to give it to him again.”

“Amusing as Elijah's bons mots may be, when you find yourself reading someone's apparently serious posts twice, searching for some sort of sardonic quip hidden in there, you know that person needs to be banned.”

Well unfortunately, I’m not going to have Internet access this summer so I’ll have to post again in the fall when the semester starts. Have a good summer.

It's not The Left who has forgotten 11-9. It's your beloved President who doesn't want the truth revealed. It's the President that you support who doesn't want to cooperate in investgations regarding 11-9. It's your terrorist who feels sorrow witht the victims of 11-9 and then sends hunderds of thousands of people in to war. Killing tens of thousands of citizens.
Let no one charge that socialists have arrayed class against class in this struggle. That has been done long since in the evolution of capitalist society. One class is small and rich and the other large and poor....One consists of capitalists and the other of workers. These two classes are at war. Every day of peace is at the expense of labor. There can be no peace and good will between these two essentially antagonistic economic classes. - Debs
It sounds almost exactly like Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana".
Have you studied Propaganda? Since I think it is very good. The overall feeling is not of tragedy but of victory, in that sense I think everything was done exactly right.

NEVAR FORGET!!
Hey non-sectarian bastard did you respond to my post in 'politics' about whether civilian death tolls were important or not? It's dissappeared off the front page, and I cant reply in that thread now anyway.
I will forget 9/11 except what the americans did. I will always remember world war two.

I don't think so. If you can find the topic, I'd be happy to reply.
And yes each and every human is important.
