While browsing on the internet I found this site http://www.dhmo.org/. It details the dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide a deadly chemical. Some quotes from the website.
Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is a colorless and odorless chemical compound, also referred to by some as Dihydrogen Oxide, Hydrogen Hydroxide, Hydronium Hydroxide, or simply Hydric acid. Its basis is the unstable radical Hydroxide, the components of which are found in a number of caustic, explosive and poisonous compounds such as Sulfuric Acid, Nitroglycerine and Ethyl Alcohol.
Each year, Dihydrogen Monoxide is a known causative component in many thousands of deaths and is a major contributor to millions upon millions of dollars in damage to property and the environment. Some of the known perils of Dihydrogen Monoxide are:

    * Death due to accidental inhalation of DHMO, even in small quantities.
    * Prolonged exposure to solid DHMO causes severe tissue damage.
    * Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects.
    * DHMO is a major component of acid rain.
    * Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns.
    * Contributes to soil erosion.
    * Leads to corrosion and oxidation of many metals.
    * Contamination of electrical systems often causes short-circuits.
    * Exposure decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes.
    * Found in biopsies of pre-cancerous tumors and lesions.
    * Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere.
    * Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect.
The problems are major and this chemical needs to be banned now!
Write to your local representitive (or if you don't have one overthrow the government and get yourself one) and demand that they bring it up with the govt.
Only with your support can this menece be stopped.

Oh yes this is a joke :P . But by all means write to your local member and get them to read it. Prefferabbly some right-wing conservitive idiot. Wouldn't it be funny if someone said something about this in a national parliament.

(You might even, if you live in the USA, write to Bush, but it would probably get read by someone smart before it got to him.)

I hope you weren't serious in your call to ban the "dangerous compound" commonly known as water. I seriously hope you were kidding.

This is best presented as serious...but the problem is that in the internet environment, when one tries to play something like this straight they are ridiculed.

    A shame...

I'm protesting the use of it with you.. I'll let you know how I'm doing in a week or so.

I agree. It is best played as serious. It's funny how many people will buy into it. I think city officials in the city of Aliso Viejo, California actually proposed banning foam cups because a researcher (intern) had been duped by the hoax, and was genuinely concerned about its use. Apparently, no one else had heard of the stuff either.
