Libetairan Communist and Marxist have the same goal: a classless, stateless society, but Libertarian Communist focus more on this end result and often belive in a communal system of society and many reject a transitional "dictatorship of the proletariate" as unwise since leaders will rise up to take advantage of the revolution for their own lust for power and these leaders will betray the revolution.

Hehe, almost to be honest...![]()
But it's not quite that simple.![]()
Libertarian communists, such as myself, prefer a non-dogmatic form of communism. Negri is pretty big among libertarian vommies, but personally I don't like him. Autonomous, ultraleft and leftist communists are other name for libertarian communists.
And libertarian communist ARE marxists, atleast the absolute majority.
Some thinkers and groups are are Paul Mattick, Bordiga, Socialisme au barbarie, the operiaists, Johnshon-Forester Fraction and many more.
Some libertarian communist revolutions are Hungary 56, against the Soviet Union, and France 68, where libertarian communists where an big factor. The zapatistas have many libertarian communist tendencies.
However most libertarian communist don't see an ideological movement as an factor in the revolution. The basic thing is that the workers should organise themselves, independent of unions and parties.
The future belongs to us.

Libertarian Communism is another name for anarchist-communism. It was invented in the late 19th century because anarchism was outlawed in some countries and because capitalist propaganda was giving anarchist a bad name. Both of the pamphlets TAT links to are by anarchists. The anarchists in the Spanish Revolution described their ultimate goal as libertarian communism.
Later, some confused marxists who had effectively abandonded marxism for anarchism (but wouldn't admit it) started using the name for themselves. They did this instead of calling themselves anarchists because they didn't like the term "anarchist" due to marxist prejudices and had been idolizing Marx for so long that they didn't feel comfortable stopping.
