OK, capitalism is about making money and being egoistic only thinking about oneself, but sometime even they exaggerate!
Water! How can something that is so fundamental for human life be a merchendaise?
In countries such as Argentine and SouthAfrica among others the water has been made something you make money out of.
I mean, how can people be so interested in making profits that they do not longer care about that people is dying?

Some sort of dignity must still be left in the people who make money out of such a basic thing as water.

How you ask? Quite simply put; greed, and money summed up in one word, capitalism.

I understand what you mean, even here in the US water is capitalized on. It sounds completely crazy and asinine, however it is legal and it will make money. Therefore people capitalize on it.

Whether or not it is moral, nothing is stopping them.

I guess in the U$ water is dirty due to pollution. And companies filter waters and hype them up with vitamins for a profit. I don't agree with it, but they still put some labor into it, so I guess they should get paid....

If you MUST have pure water, then why not just distill it yourself?

I once read a report from a Fascist website about how Flouride is used in animal labs to sedate the animals and calm them down, with the conclusion that it was being used the same way in our water supply.

Yep, that sounds about right. Distilled water is 100% pure H2O, all you have to do is boil it and recondense it. All the additives and contaminantes stay, and the water boils away. You could piss in a distiller and youll still get pure water at the other end.

How come that countries like RSA make water to a money making business? They know that there is many more people who can't afford it than the opposite.

And when they can't afford they drink water that isn't fresh enough to drink, then a epidemy starts(most recently cholera),and then the people who get sick have to seek up a hospital which they can't afford...

There you have a negative spiral, that won't be solved by making a market out of Water!

Speaking of absurd capitalist industries, on CapitalismForum they want to privatise roads and then charge people to use them, apparenlty the competition would produce a better service

HAHA....they got to be kidding me!!
Think if you couldn't go to, for example, your training because you cannot afford it....

They wan't to privatise the whole world soon.

over a billion people in the world have no acess to clean h20 -the same water we in the wes tuse i our toilets.

so, remember:

if its yellow, then its mellow

if its brown, flush it down

if its green, scream!
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

Thats just the privatisation process, it shows why the free market style economy is flawed, and why an economy with a decent sized public sector should be promoted.

In most of the nations in which they are trying this, runnning water is fairly new in historical terms. So it's not considered as vital as it is here, threr are probably even places in South Africa, where you can't get running water, whether you have money to pay or not.

At the rate the capitalists are going with polluting the world, eventually they'll be charging people for air too. As in if you're poor, you can't drink and you can't breathe. <_<
