I think you have forgotten the reason we have evolved to have hands -To use tools. In the last 100,000 years human stomachs have evolved to lose the enzymes to digest raw meat, it became impossible to eat large quantities of it, we can't physicaly eat large amountss of raw meat, we will die.

Well, as redstar2000 said, your intestines will have a really hard time digesting raw vegetables. Go eating raw meat and if you are lucky, you will end up with some nasty intestinal parasites, if not, you could contract salmonella or some other nasty illness. I admit, however, If one MUST eat meat, it is better to eat cooked meat because of the disease, chemicals, and urine that get into today's meat supply. the average human beings digestive tract is so weakened by cooked food that it can no longer digest real food very well. Basically, the system can no longer handle raw foods because it has become lazy. But, the digestive tract can be strengthened by eating exclusively raw, organic, foods. My question to you is...
Can you prove that cooked, denatured, foods are superior to raw, organic, plant foods?

Rastafari, I live in Escondido, California. I am not far from civilization or the beach, but yes, I do live in a pretty rural area. On a ranch.
In winter, I go to a couple local co-ops for produce. But mostly I stick to the winter veggies: squash, pumpkin, roots, nuts, etc.

Well, its not you CANT digest that food, it would just take so much energy that almost have to constantly eat like a cow. Cooked food doesn't weaken the digestive system. You could eat babyfood for your entire life and your digestive system would be the same as if you lived on nails. Your stomach will always contain hydrocloric acid no matter what.

This diet is pretty commen now days. I've heard of a lot of resturants and famouse people that only eat raw. Personally I am open to it. But not just yet. I am a veggie too, but not raw, maybe in the near future.

A raw vegan diet is all well and good and deserving of respect. But I think (I&#39;m sure others would agree) that eating can, and ought to be, enjoyable. Despite what I may have said about the truth behind the Pot-Noodle student stereotype elsewhere, I actually enjoy eating enormously. I like cooking, and preparing a really tasty meal - this is next to impossible without meat&#33;

I also believe that the domestication of animals for the purposes of consumption, and intensive farming rather than "gathering" is one of the great steps taken towards the civilisation and development of the human race. Without it, we would indeed be clubbing each other around the heads with heavy blunt objects.

(Whereas NOW, we have bigger blunt objects&#33; Nukes, in fact&#33; <sighs> We are so primitive, really...)

Well, I&#39;m sure you can claim that self-mutilation is a great way to relieve stress and that everyone should do that. Who is to say you aren&#39;t right? Thinking for yourself and listening to what other people say is a great thing, but you have to realize that a lot of what is out there is pretty retarded.
