*HUGE* Victory for 8,000 Chicago Workers!

Chris,

As a supporter of Chicago Jobs with Justice, you are part of a truly *huge* victory for 8,000 airport workers with SEIU Local 1!

"Nearly 8,000 contract employees at O’Hare and Midway Airports would be paid 'no less than $13.45-an-hour' and guaranteed the right to join unions under a mayoral plan embraced by organized labor.

Below is quoted from the Chicago Sun-Times, on the new ordinance introduced (now with the Mayor's support), to improve wages and working conditions at O'Hare airport, including organizing to form a union and win a union contract to protect those standards!

"[The Ordinance] would mandate those airline contractors and sub-contractors to pay their employees no less than $13.45-an-hour, beginning on July 1, 2018, with annual increases every year after that tied to the cost-of-living."

After tireless years of organizing, protesting, and striking in their #FightFor15 and union rights, contracted service workers at Chicago O'Hare International Airport are a HUGE step closer to yearly raises and all the benefits that come with union membership!

Chicago Jobs with Justice and our Workers Rights Board has been there every step of the way!! Thank you all who have stood with the workers in this fight. Congratulations to SEIU Local 1 and all of the workers at our airports for their tireless courage in this hard-fought campaign. When we fight, we win!!
