100 Days of Resilience
Join the fight for salud, dignidad, and justicia with NLIRH.
Hi Chris,
Over the first 100 days of the Trump administration, we have experienced countless attacks on our communities. Since the beginning of this administration, President Trump and his allies in Congress have targeted undocumented immigrants, refugees, reproductive rights, healthcare, and our Muslim sisters and brothers. The Senate has confirmed controversial nominees including Jeff Sessions, Tom Price, and Neil Gorsuch, who pose a threat to health, dignity, and justice for women, Latinxs*, immigrants, and LGBTQ communities.
Thanks to your support, even when facing these attacks – we stay resilient.
This first 100 days does not leave us defeated, it compels us to work harder and stronger. Supporters like you stood in solidarity with us from the start and continue to take action and fight back against these injustices. The attacks in the first 100 days aren’t the only story, we saw important victories that pushed reproductive justice forward:
- In Texas, a Judge blocked the state’s attempt to ban Planned Parenthood health centers from Medicaid funding.
- The Florida Supreme Court blocked the state’s 2015 medically unnecessary abortion restrictions.
- Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe signed into law the Birth Control Access Act, which allows women to obtain a year’s worth of oral contraceptive.
These victories reinforce the power of resisting these injustices and your support of Latinx activists who are working at the national and state level to make sure that our communities and our rights are protected. If the first 100 days of this administration is indicative of the future, then we need to continue to be resilient and fight back.
Your investment today makes sure that the voices the Trump administration is trying to silence are heard loud and clear. Your gift will help Latinx activists continue their community mobilization and policy advocacy efforts like phonebanking, canvassing, and legislative visits to make sure that the intentions of this administration do not become reality.
I want to thank you for standing with us at this critical time. Only together can we continue to fight these injustices. It’s supporters like you that will keep us moving forward no matter who tries to stand in our way - that power will ensure justice for us all!
En solidaridad,
