We won! Google joins in supporting May Day

Silicon Valley Rising

Dear Chris,

Big news! Google has responded to our call to support workers who take action on May Day, committing to ensure its workers and subcontractors do not face retaliation for participating in protests or strikes.

Thanks to the more than 2,000 people like you who signed our petition, and the 50+ organizations that joined Silicon Valley Rising in sending letters and delegations to Google offices around the country, the company has joined a growing list of tech firms that have committed to supporting their workers' ability to participate in actions on International Workers Day.

On May 1st, thousands will take to the streets to protest the Trump Administration’s attacks on our communities. Our coalition partners UNITE HERE and SEIU-USWW have been leading the call for working people and immigrants across the country to raise their voices on May Day. Now Google’s bus drivers, security officers, food service workers, and other service staff — many of whom are immigrants, women, and people of color — can join workers in the tech sector and beyond in resisting attacks from President Trump and his Administration.

We all need to send a message on May 1. Will you march with us? In San Jose, meet at:

May Day Strike and March
Monday, May 1, 2017, 1:00pm
Mexican Heritage Plaza (Pavilion)
1700 Alum Rock Ave, San Jose, CA 95116.
