Google: Protect immigrant workers!
Dear Chris,
Since mass action against the Trump administration’s Muslim travel ban in January, the tech industry’s own white collar workers have participated in public demonstrations, and Google has supported its direct employees' right to protest. Now, these tech workers are joining with low-wage subcontracted workers to call on industry leaders to protect all tech workers by taking strong positions against anti-immigrant and anti-worker federal policies.
Will you stand with immigrant workers by adding your name to the petition?
Many organizations have called for May 1, 2017 to be a day of action—a day with no work, no school, and no purchasing. Google, one of the largest, most profitable technology companies in the world and the largest tech employer in Silicon Valley, must honor the wishes of any workers who want participate actions on May Day.
Together with our Silicon Valley Rising coalition partners, we've called on Google to honor the wishes of any workers who want participate in the May Day actions by not punishing them, and to hold its subcontractors—including those providing cafeteria, janitorial, and security services—to the same standard.
Add your name to the petition today!
Thank you.
