Tax Trump!


Dear Chris,

Have you ever wondered what your taxes pay for? President Trump's budget proposes to ADD ANOTHER $54 BILLION to the military and defense budget1 — those are your hard-earned tax dollars. Our tax dollars should reflect our priorities, not fulfill the dreams of corrupt, racist billionaires.

Will you join our friends at Alianza Americas and demand that our tax dollars be used wisely? NOT on War and Walls?

Starting on Tuesday, April 11, Latinx-led organizations will speak out against wasteful use of public dollars on militarization, building detention centers, and separating families. These funds could be put to much better use by investing in education, health care, access to decent housing, and critical infrastructure.



On Tax Day, families across the US will pay their federal and state income taxes. More than 40 million of them will be foreign-born individuals, including undocumented immigrants. The Trump administration has tried to demonize, stigmatize and criminalize immigrants, but the truth is that immigrants are making a significant tax contribution to the nation, as well as to the states where we reside.
