Default TOMORROW We March at Nissan! [Sat. 3-4, Canton, MS]

    TOMORROW We March at Nissan!

    Hello Friends,

Thank you for supporting our petition demanding that Nissan stop advertising on Breitbart's website and supporting it's racist propaganda. Many companies such as Kellogg's and Warby Parker have already stopped advertising on Breitbart but Nissan refuses to pull out!

Tomorrow we invite you to join Danny Glover, Senator Bernie Sanders, Color Of Change members, and Nissan workers for The March on Mississippi to support Nissan workers! Workers at the Nissan plant in Canton, Mississippi have been trying to form a union for over 14 years and have been denied their rights as workers every step of the way!

Nissan supports white supremacy explicitly, by funding the racist, white nationalist "news" site Breitbart, and subtly by not allowing their 80% Black plant in Mississippi to form a union. Nissan workers are able to unionize in every region of the world Nissan operates, EXCEPT in the southern part of the U.S where the workforce is majority Black!

    What: The March on Mississippi

When: Saturday March 4th, 12:30-3pm (CST)

Where: Canton Multipurpose Complex/ Nissan's Plant (501 Soldiers Colony Road Canton, MS 39046)

    RSVP on Facebook: http://bit.ly/2lOBkuT

Looking forward to seeing many of you there! And if you haven't yet, please share the petition with your friends and family: https://campaigns.organizefor.org/pe...time-to-decide

    Thanks,

    Pastor Horace McMillon

    Default Standing with Nissan workers

    Standing with Nissan workers

    Dear Chris,

I’m writing to you from Canton, Mississippi. It’s a small town just outside Jackson, and even though you might not have heard of it, it’s ground zero for one of the most critical labor organizing fights happening right now.

Workers at the Nissan plant in Canton have been trying to form a union for years, but Nissan has used every dirty trick in the book to try and crush their right to organize.

Many of these workers are women and Black folks who are stuck in low-wage temp jobs with poverty pay and no benefits. And the temp agency that’s keeping these workers in poverty, Kelly Services, has received billions of dollars in federal contracts.

Let me put it another way: your tax dollars and mine are being handed over to union-busters and poverty-payers.

Click here to add your name to our petition: No taxpayer dollars for poverty-payers.

Auto manufacturing jobs used to be good jobs. Time was, a worker could build cars in America and make enough money to support their family and save for their retirement.

But not at Nissan. At Nissan, some workers, even those with years of experience, are on as little as $13 per hour. That’s not enough to buy a Nissan car. It’s barely even enough to pay rent and buy groceries.

That’s why Nissan workers are fighting back, and organizing for their rights, and wherever you are, you can stand with them.

Add your name: no taxpayer handouts for companies that pay poverty wages.

We’ve got a real fight on our hands here. Low-wage federal contract workers fought hard and went on strike 20 times to win critical protections against wage theft and other labor law abuses -- but now GOP Senators are scheming to roll them back. That means federal contractors like Nissan and their temp agency Kelly Services will continue to abuse their workers without consequences. It couldn’t be more important that we show that workers and allies across the country are standing with the workers at Nissan.

Please, sign our petition: our tax dollars shouldn’t go to companies like Nissan who won’t pay fair wages.

Thank you for standing up for American workers. Thank you for being a Good Jobs Defender.

    In solidarity,

    Joseph Geevarghese
    Director, Good Jobs Defenders
