    Default A Wild Person Appears

Hello everyone! Really excited to be here. Its good to find a site which is geared towards people of a similar political position to myself. Its not often, in my country, that you meet other leftists, so its nice to have a place to come with people of similar views. I look forward to getting to know the site and its users, and hope we get along.

I'm not entirely sure what variety of Leftism I prescribe to, but I do know that I can get along with most Socialist and Communist tendencies, and vote for Socialist and Communist parties, with a few exceptions where I have respectful disagreements. Overall - every time I try and place myself in a particular part of Leftism - I generally find over and over that I'm simply a Leftist, with out necessarily any specific tendency. With that said, I do lean towards more centralist, statist, and democratic forms of Leftism.

Particular issues I take up in politics are LGBT+ issues, Physical and Mental Healthcare, Public Transportation, Self-sufficiency, and the Happiness of the Population.

Pleasure to meet you all! xD

    Welcome!
"I am vegan because I have compassion for animals; I see them as beings possessed of value not unlike humans. I am an anarchist because I have that same compassion for humans, and because I refuse to settle for compromised perspectives, half-assed strategies and sold-out objectives. As a radical, my approach to animal and human liberation is without compromise: total freedom for all, or else."

"It takes no more time to be a vegetarian than to eat animal flesh.... When non-vegetarians say ‘human problems come first’ I cannot help wondering what exactly it is that they are doing for humans that compels them to continue to support the wasteful ruthless, exploitation of farm animals."

    welcome!
left unity is important because of the challenge it has and would pose to the ruling class + the creativity it affords in the realm of theory (paris 67-68?), but the trend of anarchists calling tankies 'red fascists' and thus advocating violence against us on that basis makes this difficult + makes me fear for my safety tbh
but this makes left unity no less desirable. as bismarck said, 'crowned heads wealth and privilege will tremble should ever again the black and red unite!'
can you elaborate on what "centralist, statist and democratic" mean to you and provide examples of the forms you lean towards?
i'd also be interested in discussing lgbt issues with you some time! i'm trans and gay my self. did this inform your choice of username? c:

Welcome. Left unity is absolutely necessary if we are to ever move forward with the Socialist agenda. "Workers of the world, unite!".

It did indeed! I'd love to talk about LGBT+ rights with you! My username is a reference to the social revolution we're currently going through!

In other words, the structure of the state would be strong, centralised, unitary state, with very little power granted to the local and regional governments beyond strictly administrative roles. Power would be centralised in the national administration, but it would still be democratic in its form, with popular vote and proportional representation being the method of election.
