Comrades,
I'm a self-proclaimed Anarchist-Communist, and hold a lot of the same concerns and beliefs as other people in the libertarian-left. Last year upon arriving in Iowa I decided to join the fight against the DAPL and teamed up with a couple of organizations, taking several arrests and standing in the cold for longer than I'd like to admit. Most of my comrades were involved with that struggle here, although some people with more similar beliefs have been putting their time into organizing incarcerated workers, which I hope to get into as well. That's generally all I am aware of as far as the Iowa struggle goes. A few of us are interested in forming an IWW GMB in our city. I decided to take the step to join RevLeft because I believe it will help me build awesome relationships with international comrades, and hopefully I will learn a lot while doing that. I am looking forward to my conversations here.
Welcome
"I am vegan because I have compassion for animals; I see them as beings possessed of value not unlike humans. I am an anarchist because I have that same compassion for humans, and because I refuse to settle for compromised perspectives, half-assed strategies and sold-out objectives. As a radical, my approach to animal and human liberation is without compromise: total freedom for all, or else."
"It takes no more time to be a vegetarian than to eat animal flesh.... When non-vegetarians say ‘human problems come first’ I cannot help wondering what exactly it is that they are doing for humans that compels them to continue to support the wasteful ruthless, exploitation of farm animals."
Awesome. Finally someone who did something. Welcome to the forum.
