Stopping lead in your drinking water
Food & Water Watch
Hi Chris,
Did you hear that the investigation into the Flint water disaster has just been closed? We're worried about what the new administration could mean for us in Chicago.
In 2016, nearly 1 in 3 schools tested in Chicago revealed lead levels requiring immediate action. What can you do to ensure your child is safe? How can we protect ourselves at home? What will it take to solve this lead crisis and replace our pipes to guarantee clean drinking water?
We're teaming up with the Chicago Teachers Union to demand a solution to the lead crisis threatening our children and drinking water.
Join us to hear important guidance on what we can do in our homes, and help elected leaders commit to making changes with our water pipes!
What: Get the Lead Out — A Safe Water Forum
Date: Saturday, February 4 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Place: Chicago Teacher's Union, 1901 W. Carroll Ave., Chicago, IL 60612
We'll be joined by experts who can help us navigate these questions and will later break into groups to reveal how each of us can make the necessary solutions a reality.
The Trump administration has threatened to let private companies govern our water and turn our most essential resource into a corporate asset. We must fight back against this effort and defend clean water for all.
Sign up and let us know you can join us for this important community event.
See you there!
