Default Hopefully this is the place for me!

Hey guys. I'm a little afraid that some parts of my beliefs might not be compatible with this forum, but we'll get into that later. I can tell you for sure that I am anti-capitalist and that I would call myself some kind of an anarchist. If I'm honest with myself, my main problem right now is sorting these things out. There are a lot of ideas on the Left, and I am familiar with their differences, but not entirely confident that I can describe them accurately or that I am not missing large chunks of information.

I've spent most of my life going further and further left on the political spectrum (I understand that it's not the best measure). This might get a few laughs out of people... I was even a "white nationalist" for some time, despite not fitting most traditional definitions of a "white person" in the first place. Please don't eat me alive, lol.

My family comes from a formerly communist country and they say it was great (I was born there too but after the fall and then we moved to the US)... people had healthcare, they could go to school, make a decent wage, never had to worry about what was to come tomorrow. So, even though I call myself an anarchist, I keep an open mind here because I'm not educated enough right now to confidently slap a label and just move on. It's why I'm here. Even if this website does not turn out to be a place for me, I hope that it can be a learning experience.

I am a pretty religious person, but again, won't go too into detail unless it's necessary. Becoming religious is actually what helped me sympathize with the injustices people face instead of just focusing on preserving my own little privileges and comforts. I guess that some of my more specific beliefs are: I support BLM, I absolutely support immigrant rights (especially undocumented immigrants), I want a world without militarized borders (the freedom to migrate is important to me), I think people should earn a decent wage, I love guns and gun rights, and here's one I think people might not like... I don't believe in random gender identities and all of that, but I do fully support everyone's right to live in safety and provide for themselves. I like cultures and cultural differences but I don't believe they hold any importance in the long run and we should not be putting in extensive effort to "preserve" them if they will change with time anyway, and especially if these efforts are harming actual human beings and their free will.

I guess I'm mainly here to straighten my ideology out and see where I am inconsistent, what I could learn more about, and so on. I want to shed liberal tendencies especially, because the one thing I'm confident about is that I'm not one of them.

So far, I really like it here. But I've only been around for a few hours.

    Welcome aboard, Iveta.

My family comes from a formerly communist country and they say it was great [. . .] people had healthcare, they could go to school, make a decent wage, never had to worry about what was to come tomorrow.
It's not our dream to make the whole world Sweden.
Not that this wouldn't be great, though.

It may be worth noting that many -- probably most -- people here believe that there has never been a communist country, in the sense of a workers' state.

This might get a few laughs out of people... I was even a "white nationalist" for some time, despite not fitting most traditional definitions of a "white person" in the first place.
There's nothing particularly funny that European colonialism has such absurdities for its legacy.
That reminds me of the Munich shooting this year. Ali "David" Sonboly, the Iranian-German neo-Nazi shooter, tried to emulate Breivik and considered himself a part of the Aryan race because Iranian=Aryan.

I don't believe in random gender identities and all of that
I've witnessed people on the far left being more inclined to eschew gender altogether instead of creating new genders.
