Default ideal capitalism better than communism?

    Dear comreades,

Today I had a discussion with a pretty open minded friend of mine. We talket about the wrongs of modern capitalism. However he said that the only problem of capitalism is the greed of the people and that the aim should not be to establish communism but to better capitalism i.e to pay fair wages and to offer more jobs... He said that ideal capitalism without greed, where everyone could live in dignity, would be much better than communism.

    What do you guys think?

Think that is pretty much nonsense. Capitalism inherently pushes wages down by competition, so it is impossible to pay high wages let alone "fair wages". capitalism is based on the appropriation of wealth by usurping surplus value from the products created by the proletariat, this mean you have a ruling class, who dont work, the bourgeouise, exploiting the working class and usurping money from their work.

Also being able to own any means of productions makes it exceptionally easy for a greedy person to appropiate these means of production and exploit his workers.

I am an anarchist because I have that same compassion for humans, and because I refuse to settle for compromised perspectives, half-assed strategies and sold-out objectives. As a radical, my approach to animal and human liberation is without compromise: total freedom for all, or else."

"It takes no more time to be a vegetarian than to eat animal flesh.... When non-vegetarians say ‘human problems come first’ I cannot help wondering what exactly it is that they are doing for humans that compels them to continue to support the wasteful ruthless, exploitation of farm animals."

Capitalism is systematic exploitation. The owner of capital does not invest in order to use the capital himself; he invests to extort the labor of others.
The very act of capital investment is the act of an extortionist.

Capitalism can not be fixed because it is not broken; it works exactly as it is supposed to.
"It is only by the abolition of the state, by the conquest of perfect liberty by the individual, by free agreement, association, and absolute free federation that we can reach Communism - the possession in common of our social inheritance, and the production in common of all riches." ~Peter Kropotkin
"Let us fight to free the world - to do away with national barriers - to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness. Soldiers! in the name of democracy, let us all unite!" ~Charles Chaplin
"Communism is Anarchy. You can't regulate or reform your way to communism; it can only be achieved by direct action against state, class and capital."

If it would be possible to make capitalism devoid of all unintended faults, this ideal capitalism would still maintain alienation and exploitation. And then there are the cultural effects as well; being stuck in a new kind of cyclical time, where every day is the same, it would be monotonous and eventually unbearable. The capitalist utopia would be asphyxiating, where everything seems to be perfect, but you always feel sick because of something, yet you don't know why. Ideal capitalism would be among the worst dystopias.

Any idea predicated on eradicating "greed" from the population is Utopian. Social systems direct that impulse into pro- or anti-social directions, and capitalism certainly does the latter. Centuries of preachers and ministers trying to berate people into being good and moral has had very little effect, if any, and possibly a negative one.

Here's the question: what concrete act could you take to eliminate greed? I can't think of one. But there are concrete steps you can take to change systems.
