Hey everyone, lurked around on RevLeft over the years but never joined until now.
I'm from the UK, I'm basically a supporter of the Labour Party (more or less). Corbyn's about as good as things have gotten in terms of things progressing here, but hopefully most people know what's going on thereGod help us if the Blairite right takes back control.
Basically been a leftist since I was in school, not really sure what did it except maybe being surrounded by Tories and their disdain for people, or their misguided idea of Britain. Kinda bewildering I fell into it anyway, consider Blair and Brown were in charge when I first started caring. Moved further and further left over the years, briefly considered myself a communist for a while, but drifted back towards the centre after that. Settled somewhere around where I am today.
Happy to answer any questions, and happy to be here!

Oh I'm not a Corbyn fan either, he's useless. I mostly just support Labour because there's no other credible alternative. Though how credible Labour will be soon remains to be seen.
Thanks anyway!![]()

Just remember 'There is no alternative' as Margaret Thatcher once said.

How cruel of you, to recall The Wicked Witch of Downing Street when we've newly elevated Theresa May to attempt to recapture the magic of Maggie :P
The woman is about as significant an enemy of human rights law and protection for the most vulnerable in society as you could get in modern Britain...

Hey, welcome. Are you a revolutionary leftist? I am not asking this as some trick to get you banned. Its just that revolutionary leftism and 'leftism' really have absolutely nothing in common when it comes down to the line. The last time the labour party was even remotely 'leftist' was before WW1. Though to its credit the Labour party opposed the war far more strongly than many of the other 'bread-and-butter' Socialist parties like the SDP.
Honestly? I'm not really sure! I certainly would've described myself as a revolutionary leftist when I was younger, but then swung back towards the centre, and these days I'm so disheartened with everything I find myself swinging back towards the left and the revolutionary left...
I don't think I'm quite there yet, not to mention I've still got the hangover of the bad reputation some people I knew at the time floating odiously around my mental conception of the revolutionary left (on a purely personal level, rather than mis-characterising the whole shebang that way), but I suppose part of why I finally signed up is to (re?)discover where I stand by talking to people and reading what others are saying.

Glad to see people are coming back to the left, I trust and hope we can convince you and many others to stay and tell Labour forever nay.![]()
Welcome. Interesting to see Labour Party supporters come here. Personally I'm supportive of Corbyn, not because I believe he will bring about any fundamental change, but because he seems to be kicking some life back into the British worker's movement and I'm interested to see if any militant socialist currents can come forth out of this.
