    Default Hello

I'm not really sure how these introductions go, so I will just jump right into it. I am mostly here because I finally became bored/depressed by trolling the alt-right and other social dregs online. Put simply, there are too fucking many of them, and as much as I try to make a meager impact on the world of online comments (mostly as a method of procrastination), it is a damned futile affair and I am all too well aware of that. I suppose I want to find some place where I can discuss politics, vent, and go on the occasional rant and be met at worst with arcane theoretical disagreement rather than called an SJW cuck by some guy who I just know has both a neckbeard and a fedora. All of that is fun, but it gets tiresome after some time. Also, MRA's made a hate-site with my name and photo on it, so there is a small, but present, fear of things getting nasty in real life.

As for who I am and what I believe, I consider myself to be something of a non-aligned leftist. I don't subscribe to one particular ideology or another, and I view monolithic ideology as something that hinders the left, rather than enhances it. In the most broad sense, I am a Socialist, a Marxian, and a Libertarian (most definitely not in the modern American sense of the term). I think that the State has its uses, but that its pitfalls are quite deep. That said, to rid the world of the state without ridding the world of Capitalism is an invitation to Feudalism with Twitter, and I do not particularly want to see people like the Kochs being granted essentially modern-day Ducal powers. I am not an Anarchist in that I do not believe that the State and Capitalism may be abolished simultaneously, but rather that Capitalism must go first, and the State must follow. That said, I am not a Leninist. I do not believe that the State should be seized by a Vanguard Party and operated in the name of the People. That way leads too easily to oligarchy and corruption, in my view. As to what I think is to be done? That part I am not so sure about, and is partly the reason why I am here. Anarchists and Leninists may yet win me over.

Admittedly, I am not very well versed on theory. I am a student of History, and I daresay I am fairly well-read in the subject. Theory more or less eludes me, and while I am familiar with many theoretical concepts, my knowledge is of the mile-wide/inch-deep variety, and that is also a reason for my joining.

    So.... Hello.

    Welcome to revleft.
As for socialists who neither subscribe to the anarchist abolition of the state, nor the state capitalism of Leninism or social democracy; then these 'libertarian' socialists generally fall into the left-communist, autonomist or impossibilist (including DeLeonist) categories who argue the state withers away. They are not new ideas; in fact they pre-date the Russian Revolution and continue to be supported today. I suggest you look at these, starting on Wikipedia.
