Asian cinema you say, then you must know about some certain animated Japanese series right?
But anyway, nice to meet you. I can say that I was a lurker in this site too for a few months, back then I was just disillusioned with tankie ideologies.

Hello comrades,
If memory serves me right, the first time I ever set foot on this site was about 3 or so years when, pissed off at the arguments that started to pop up made by the then emerging ultra-right wing "libertarians" on the internet, I made the following search: (")Libertarians(") are worse than fascists; which brought me to this discussion board. Not long after, I was reading thread after thread, starting with the usual "historical figure/event thread known by everyone but analyzed with a leftist perspective" threads but quickly getting into things that, for someone who grew up vaguely leftist you'd be surprised I had never heard about (Konstradt, Left Communism, Bordiga, the Dialectic, Dzerzhinsky); it also forced me to open my mind on stuff I already knew about and made me reevaluate my political tendencies. Looking back I see my younger self so ignorant, not that it's an excuse but I'd like to think that most young leftists, where I grew up, start like me as non-Stalinist tankies (not this literal oxymoron, but in the uncritical "USSR and allies" nostalgia sense).
Since I'm a raging commie with an insatiable curiosity this site has been extremely stimulating, and I must thank the lot of you for your contributions to this forum, even the dumb-dumb reactionary fucks who, by proxy, forced others to make great contributions to confront them.
As you may already guessed I've been a long time lurker, first I didn't even consider it, but as my feelings started to change and my confidence started to grow it all changed to "some day I might sign up". Maybe it was low confidence combined with scenic panic (I've been quite socially impaired IRL), maybe the feeling that if I wanted to say my word I had to be ready not to make a fool out of myself (which looking back was quite probable).
That's the story of how I got here, as for me, I'm a young adult male who is VERY passionate about his passions, be it Communism, cinema (both fiction and non-fiction), videogames (the ones that in some way or another advance the medium as a form of expression and story-telling). I'm the kind of guy that gets teary-eyed at Mad Max Fury Road because of the love and dedication that movie got from everyone involved in its making. I'm also quite knowledgable about non-fiction (documentary) movies and I'm obsessed with finding all sorts of rare gems that no one knows about (Korean documentaries, 30s or 40s soviet documentaries, asian cinema and so on); so if you are interested or have any questions ask away, I'll be happy to share my thoughts!
I guess that's enough for now, this is just an intro after all and I've already shown myself to be non-stop talker.
Nervous but glad to be here!
