    Default A Simple Leftist Introduction

Hello! I am a young anarcho-communist that just thought I would join an accepting community. I come from a very conservative, right wing environment (bible thumpers and what not) and am one of the few far-left people in my community. I try to spread my views as much as possible, while being a very nice and civil man. I'm also of the atheist minority in my area (central Ohio) and love to talk about religious beliefs or lack there of. I'm always up for a conversation on my views, challenging them or someone of the like minded to have a casual conversation, so please message me! Lastly, I'm a strong anti-feminist, but also a profound egalitarian, so that is always another topic I would love to talk about. Anyways, to cut this annoying introduction short, I hope everyone has a great weekend. Goodbye!

Welcome. My first concern is your anti-feminist sentiment. I hope that you don't equate the modern mockery led by American Tumblristas with feminism. Real, revolutionary feminism has "profound egalitarianism" with respect to sex, gender, and other intersectional elements as its goal and mandate. Although my history is a bit rusty (and please correct me if I am wrong, I do not wish to spread falsities nor do I wish to think that those falsities are real and extant), modern bourgeois feminism is a variant of feminism that broke away from the main movement sometime in the latter half of the 20th century (I think it might have been the 60s or 70s), after the movement was infiltrated by white middle class women. Those women took the movement in a different direction, and their grievences were distinctly bourgeois and middle class, as they often held contempt towards non-white, poor, and transgender women. The contemporary phenomenon is the logical conclusion of that bastardization of what feminism stood for. To be "anti-feminist but egalitarian" is a myopic viewpoint, as far as I know.

    Default Clearing up some things

Welcome. My first concern is your anti-feminist sentiment. I hope that you don't equate the modern mockery led by American Tumblristas with feminism. I apologize for not being completely clear on what I mean by being an anti-feminist. I am an anti-feminist because I believe the feminist movement is pointless and unnecessary at this moment in the western world. Women have the exact same rights, are not denied of any freedoms, are payed the same as men, and are seen as equals to everyone else in the general populace. Another reason I also strongly dislike feminism is that third wave feminism, or modern day feminism, is simply fighting for female superiority and bigotry. And you mention the bullshit on tumblr with feminazis and how I shouldn't compare tumblr femininazism with modern day feminism, well, essentially they are the same thing. The definition of this thing we call is changing, and most definitely for the worst. The first two waves of feminism were extremely beneficial and I support them fully, however, feminism has devolved into a cancerous bigoted hate cult that is poisoning the masses. (On a side note, I also simply do not like aligning myself 100% with a political movement, or anyone doing so for that matter, it limits freedom of speaking out on your own beliefs.) Feminists also put out a double standard, where they will say women are "oppressed" but, when a man gets his life ruined by a false rape accusation, or he loses everything, even his own kids, in a divorce case. Why aren't feminists helping men? Why aren't feminists talking about high suicide rates for men, or the higher chance of a workplace fatality that men face, or the multitude of REAL problems that men face. While I do not agree with the sexism that women are usually oppressed by, it is not by the government, it is by ignorant bigots who's minds can not be changed. An idea can not be changed, it is a sad fact, but a true one. There is much more things I would like to say but it would take me hours.

I think %90 of your Anit-feminism is built upon the sand. Yes their are women who dont understand feminism but women dont have the same rights and are denied freedoms (abortion and reproductive control,) Women DO earn less statistically and are NOT seen as equals by many. And that is strictly limited to the Western world. Across the globe it is much much worse; Genital mutilation being a big problem.

I would Implore you to open your mind to all of the struggles that people face.

I am worried by the name you chose that you will not do this tho.
"It is only by the abolition of the state, by the conquest of perfect liberty by the individual, by free agreement, association, and absolute free federation that we can reach Communism - the possession in common of our social inheritance, and the production in common of all riches." ~Peter Kropotkin
"Let us fight to free the world - to do away with national barriers - to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness. Soldiers! in the name of democracy, let us all unite!" ~Charles Chaplin
"Communism is Anarchy. You can't regulate or reform your way to communism; it can only be achieved by direct action against state, class and capital."

Haha, addressing my name first, it is a satirical statement poking fun at feminazi that talk about women's oppression in the most idiotic sense and how women are fundamentally treated like flies. So I made my name "savethemen", not meaning anything political or what not. These "statistics" you mention are literally taking the average income of a woman and a man. Not taking in any factors, such as how men generally have much higher paying jobs. Also, in the western world mainly, abortion is a guaranteed right. Now, I absolutely despise how unavailable safe abortion is in some parts of the world (especially in places such as the middle east and africa) and that seriously needs to change. In the most basic sense however, abortion is available. All of these things also apply to contraceptives as well. It pains me that women in some parts of the world don't have any, very little, or only risky and dangerous access to abortion and contraceptives, feminism is not needed to change this. Lastly, this inequality between men and women is only present because of religion, which sadly will never be gone and the sexist, racist, homophobic, and downright evil ideologies will never be gone.

Whoever approved this thread, please don't as Q likes to do that himself in this subforum.

As for savethemen, he made a post where he used the word "feminazi" and used that crap about attack helicopters as his gender. That, along with some of the stuff he's said in this post, tell me that he's a troll and so he's banned.

Y'know, it's a funny stage a lot of us go through, where we've acknowledged "I came from a conservative, reactionary background, and have been relatively isolated from radical movements" but we somehow think our consciousness has been transformed, and we don't carry any backward ideas with us.

Let's get this out of the way as quickly and clearly as possible: Your "anti-feminism" is just misogyny. It's not your fault, really - you said yourself that you're from a pretty backward place. But now you know, and you gotta change that shit.

I'm speaking from personal experience here, and not trying to be a dick. I grew up white in what is arguably Canada's most racist city (though we're apparently in stiff competition with Winnipeg) - but was convinced it didn't apply to me. I didn't drop n-bombs, I did some ARA-type shit, etc.? Y'know what? I was wrong. Shit takes years of reading, studying, listening, and being real uncomfortable 'cuz I dun fucked it up.

Can I suggest seeking out and studying some bell hooks? Some Silvia Federici? Some of what has been published by INCITE?

'Cos, like, again, no offense, but you talk "anti-feminism" like a first-year frat boy who attended one Women's Studies class and flapped his gums through the whole thing.
The life we have conferred upon these objects confronts us as something hostile and alien.
