    Default Hi everyone!

Where to start? Well first of all people tend to want to describe what sort of leftist they are, I think categories may be problematic because I really believe we are all united and can work together and that our diversity is a strength if we learn to accept our differences.

My political roots stem from living on the streets as a teenager, I met some anarchists that showed me where I could dumpster for food and because of their kindness and after reading up on class struggle and the evils of capitalism I wanted to fight back so I took part in a lot of their activism.

Even before this I had experiences with police brutality because of my poverty and mental illness. After a couple of years of demos and foods not bombs (and seeing how the powers that be acted out against us for that) and stuff like that I decided to go back to school and get educated, this meant I became stranded in a small town in the south of Sweden completely surrounded by younger neoliberals and nationalists so while I have done that I have basically been dormant but I have completed formal training as a biologist and am on my way to getting a license as a high school teacher.

I believe very firmly that any human society should be part of the local ecology but I am not a primitivist because I believe science is the best tool we have to explore the world. On the other hand I am not into "scientism" that is - science gives us observable information that we can agree upon and how we value that information and what we do with it is up to us as humans, science is no substitute for philosophy; moral systems or systems of belief.

Today I feel a desperate need to bridge the gaps between different leftist thinkers in our society because my impression is that in our part of the world (Europe) the historical gains of the left from emancipation to the minimum wage and controlled markets are threatened, every leftist is threatened and we are being overrun. One example of this is that when I googled leftist forums in my own country most links that showed up were white supremacist forums discussing where the leftists are hiding. So while I classify as a green anarchist I feel that I want to network and work together with anyone from the left simply to increase the presence of the left in this society so that we do not become ghosts.

I also emphatize very strongly with any group of people that is underprivileged, dispossessed and discriminated against in this society because I know how it feels.

Thank you for reading this rant and I hope we will have fruitful discussions in the future!
