Hello All! So excited to join.
About me: hmmm...
I identify as a Trotskyist, so basically a non-Stalinist Leninist, but I am open to other ideas and try not to get bogged down in dogma. I started my foray into the left a few years ago and have accumulated a sizeable collection of Marxist literature since then. I also identify with the Marxist humanist trend and am willing to criticise Lenin (I'm not a tankie). I support the Cuban Revolution and the Bolivarian Revolution but shy away from endorsing the PRC or DPRK.
While I am not an anarchist, I can engage with them and appreciate their perspective. One of the international socialist movement's biggest mistakes is alienating anarchists.
I suppose I can be characterized as authoritarian on some issues but for the most part I am pretty liberal in the social sphere, but I see no point in differentiating economic issues from political ones.
Above all I believe that the root of the socialist/communist tradition is, for genuine revolutionaries, a deep love for humanity buoyed by a profound optimism in its potential. All too often we get removed from the basic empathy that is at the heart of leftism. I love the world, I love people, I love animals, I love ideas, and I love the limitless potential we all possess. I love you all!
Hasta la victoria Siempre!
