In line with your message: why does BA (Bob Avakian, negatively 40 plus years and going chair of the RCP) think we should be building a cult of the personality in the revolutionary internationalist communist movement when it's been shown to be negative wherever it has occurred? Marx disdained it as did Mao. I think they had a better point on cult of the personality than Avakian does,
Further was it Avakian who first formulated the basic correct line for revolution in this era - based upon internationalism and the critical role of creating public opinion via agitation and propaganda - no it was myself. Is it Avakian who fundamentally advanced the science of dialectics in the Maoist movement since Mao with the proposition that in terms of the development and motion of things, the external is generally key relative to the internal and that the development and motion of most things involve more than just 2 polar dimensions, no it was myself. And more I have detailed a number of other significant means for understanding the development and motion of things and processes outside of, or in addition to dialectics in the paper "Beyond Dialectics" first published here on RevLeft.
So although I have introduced the era of a "Big Leap" in Marxist theory based upon the two above mentioned contributions and other theoretical matters delineated at risparty.org, I don't think there should be a cult of personality promoted on my behalf. Avakian who has contributed little to the political line and philosophy of Maoism since the mid-70's should be ashamed of himself for promoting a cult of personality centered on himself. Building a revolutionary mass movement & making alliances would be a more constructive thing to do.
Those people over there in the RCP can be won over to a better line if one bothers to make one.
& one can certainly make alliances with those people on certain issues nevertheless.

In terms of immediate threat, yes we should oppose the possibility of a fascist Trump presidency, but that should be as a part of our overall movement. The overall movement would continue to oppose all threats including sources of opportunism like the Avakian cult of personality.
