For a long time I did not understand dialectics but had enough trust in the works of Marx, Engels and Lenin to know that it was not mysticism but a real philosophy underpinning their theories. I found this enlightening article which makes me understand the fundamental of dialectics in an accessible way. Check it out:

Who are the oppressors? The few: the King, the capitalist and a handful of other overseers and superintendents. Who are the oppressed? The many: the nations of the earth; the valuable personages; the workers; they that make the bread that the soft-handed and idle eat.

If you can get copies of the three volumes by Maurice Cornforth, they are a MUST read. they are easily the most readible books on Marxist-Leninist philosophy I've ever read and I'm indebted for actually finding them. they are very well lucid and well-written and have been a constant source of reference for many years when I wasn't sure on a "finer point" of discussion. They ussually come up second hand on ebay but I have seen online versions occassionally.
