Hey, I'm You.
I'm new to RevLeft, though I was aware of it before. I'm here to learn, not to preach or criticise or doing anything that's not constructive for others and myself.
I'd like some advise and opinions: I've not been politically active for more than five years. I always had an interest in anarchist ideas, then I decided I wanted to start doing actual constructive shit and, whilst having gotten into more serious reading of Marx, I got involved with some Bolshevik socialist party in the UK because I thought they had a pragmatic approach. I'm now feeling pretty dissilusioned and I think that Bolshevism freaks me out. My feeling is that Stalin was its legacy, rather than an aberration. I used to think history wouldn't repeat itself. But now I'm less sure. I think getting rid of the state may be the only way. I also think any revolutionary movment has to be much more democratic.
Anyway, I need to read and learn more, which is why I've come here. I haven't had time, for reasons I don't need to disclose here, to do much reading for quite long time, or anything except basically what I've been asked to do/told...
I hope someone can point me to some useful information, on either side of the debate I have highlighted here.
Thanks
