Fuck, my crappy US education didn't teach about either Paris Commune. In high school I read a small paragraph about the Paris Commune in 1871, and was like,"What? This is important! Why isn't this taught more?"![]()
Marx did write about the Paris Commune of 1871. Marx and Engels called it the first dictatorship of the proletariat: https://www.marxists.org/archive/mar...ance/index.htm Seems like one of the great urban insurrections, of which it inspired many.
Marx said,"what is certain is that I myself am not a Marxists," when he got into an argument with Jules Guesde over the minimum program of the Workers' Party of France. https://www.marxists.org/archive/mar...ti-ouvrier.htm
