Of course that's a bit of an overstatement. :P
I've been playing an online political and military simulation game for some time now. My party is Irish (Independent Labour Party). Our community is rather small now and I can tell you the level of free speech the admins of the game allow is a bit disheartening.
Recently we had a group of Croatian players, led by someone who (big surprise) has despised my party for quite some time, return to our community. In their group their are a handful of players who've changed their avatars to represent various nazi party members, such as Hitler and Himmler.
Yeah nothing happened. One of our friends from another party (Left Hand of Ireland) posted a few articles about it to criticize them in which they posted many comments like "Cromega Uber Alles!" and all that crap, before the articles were taken down by the admins for (guess what?) Nazi images. The same images of their avatars which the article criticizes. lol
Make no mistake. I intend to ruin this game for them through any means possible. I'm a firm believer that the only good nazi is a dead one. I think those who try to halt or slow down the progress of society do not deserve Society's nurture. If anyone is interested in joining let me know and i'll post the referral link below. The game is free.
But I would first like to draw relation to a non-game opinion. I personally believe that everyone should have a right to say what what they feel or believe. Freedom of speech have you. But I also believe that if you say something offensive, others should have the right to set you straight. It sickens me to see cops protecting KKK marches and fascist protests, no different than these admins are protecting these players just so they'll get more customers in the long run.
If fascists are willing to shed blood to spill their poisonous ideology at others than they shouldn't be guarded by the state against those who are also willing to shed for theirs.
Violence is, often times, not the best solution. So if not then what other systems could be put in place to prevent the spreading of such fascism?
