Weapons of Mass Destruction!

Inspired by the "Biobombs, kill the masses" thread, I have opened this thread to discuss WMD's in general. I consider these to be Nuclear, Chemical and Biological weapons. And I think all three should be outlawed. The "deterrant" theory has something to be said for it... But not much. I don't think "nukes" are worth the risks. And I CERTAINLY don't think the taxpayer should be contributing to the development of "bigger and badder" weapons - we have enough firepower to destroy the world several times over after all.

Also, having the technology just hanging around increases the chances that a "wayward state" might start developing these weapons - or a terrorist group. Nuclear or chemical hollocaust doesn't bear thinking about. Peace, man!

I agree with you on all counts. If you want the deterrant factor just make an empty warehouse and say you have them. That is all the deterrant factor you need, unless you plan on proving yourself, which isn't a deterrant. Plus they would only kill your enemies after you are under the gun. What is the point; fuck everyone? That is one screwed up society. If poeple were truly important to one another, we wouldn't be killing each other in mass. A lot of work has to be done in such sick societies.
