That sounds wonderful. I might look at it, but what is it about?
Men vanish from earth leaving behind them the furrows they have ploughed. I see the furrow Lenin left sown with the unshatterable seed of a new life for mankind, and cast deep below the rolling tides of storm and lightning, mighty crops for the ages to reap.

I started reading this and am now hooked since seeing the dystopian future of books (or bx, the new spelling) presented in this work of fiction. But who is Hal Draper?

He was a founder of the IS in the US and a big influence in Berkeley and theorist of Socialism from Below.

Famous for his essay, The Two Souls of Socialism, and a number of important studies of Marx and politics.

This story appears to have been written in 1961. It has aged quite well!

Draper was also a librarian. Makes the story make a bit more sense.
