Very nice to meet you, from the United States!

It's good to have another person joining the worker's struggle.

    Anything else you could share?

    Welcome comrade!

I'm an American in New York of Irish decent, my mother's family coming over during the famine and my father's family coming over in 1929, after spending a few generations in Scotland after the famine. My grandfather who greatly influenced my political views was a socialist who lived in the Irish slums in Glasgow. My name kind of honors him as he was a big Celtic supporter.

One of our long time members and mod of the history forum BOZG is also from Ireland, from Cork I believe.

Hello! I don't know if you're new to leftism or not, but in case you are, have you read Friedrich Engel's Principles of Communism and/or his Draft of a Communist Confession of Faith? It's available at marxists.org (Marxists Internet Archive).

I'd recommend checking this out (MIA): Beginners Guide to Marxism and Lenin's The Three Sources and Three Component Parts of Marxism.

Also, here are a few books (PDFs) that are a good introduction to Marxism.

    Marx: A Beginner's Guide

The Revolutionary Ideas of Karl Marx

Are you interested in any particular tendency right now?

    If you're not new, welcome!
