I posted in ongoing struggles and honestly as a new member of the forum it was pretty dismal.
So I put the question to you. For a real revolution to take place, where you would pick up a gun and or do direct action in some major form with real sacrifice. How would you need the movement to express itself, what plan do you see from your mind coming to fruition.
Look forward to hearing from the pros![]()
The general and ongoing strike is good option. But the best would be when all people didn't jus go to work in protest.
"Property is theft."
Pierre-Joseph Proudhon
"the system of wage labor is a system of slavery"
Karl Heinrich Marx
I don't see that happening, you need some form of a movement or party people can rally with.
People need coordination and something tangible.
So come on guys, blast away![]()
Sorry, i'd just like to say, I hope nobody will be stupid enough to engage this post in terms of 'I would get a gun and go and do this'.
That's not what revolution is about, contrary to what a lot of people believe. It's not about being the Rote Armee Fraktion or whatever, in general. Especially in developed nations where guerilla warfare is likely to be a dead end, as well as totally undesirable, the whole point is not to 'force' some ideological change (i.e. 'we want red flags in power'), but to actually lead to a situation where the very basis of production - capitalism - is rejected by those who re-produce it: the working class.
So, as was said above, the best solution would really be for an ongoing, mass strike, and for people to simply down tools and not turn up to work. No workers = no capitalism.
Agreed, but how do you get a mass strike to happen.
It seems these details are being left out.
haha which may be the most important part.
And for note, my original post was something along the lines of "How would you need a struggle to operate in order for you to make real sacrifice".
I understand the ideal of mass strike but are you saying that is the only route you would partake in?
Lastly again, trying to see where you guys are coming from![]()
The way I see it is when the true revolution takes place not a single bullet shall fly and not a single battle shall be fought.
As I'm sure you know, 99% of the world's wealth is with the top 1% richest.
In my opinion, the revolution will be fought through conciousness raising and getting the vast majority of exploited people to realise the situation they're in. They need to develop a true class conciousness.
When that happens, everyone will refuse to work under a capitalist system. Together. And then the system will have no choice but to crumble.
If people refuse to be exploited, then exploitation shall cease to exist.
It would seem that a large percentage of the community feels that awareness is the over-riding concern.
My question to that is "with seeing how history has played itself out with the individuals in wealthy nations becoming complacent while the poor become the revolutionaries due to conditions - how do change this cycle to get people into an aware state?"
Remember we have more resources and leftist organizations in the west than you can shake a stick at.
There seems to be something missing in the formula.
Though I agree with what you are saying. I think you outline the ideal perfectly.![]()
