sorry im curious as to how many of you believe in aliens
If I was the head of a country that lost a war, and I had to sign a peace treaty, just as I was signing I'd glance over the treaty and then suddenly act surprised. "Wait a minute! I thought we won!"

I remember how, in college, I got that part-time job as a circus clown, and how the children would laugh and laugh at me. I vowed, then and there, that I would get revenge.

One day a beaver and a termite were walking down the road together. "I can eat through a tree with my teeth," said the beaver. "That's nothing," said the termite, "I can burrow through a tree." Then they heard a voice behind them. "You two think you're so smart, but you're nothing!" It was a bitter old drunk lady.

I think there is a good chance of aliens being green, actually. Photosynthesis as the earth shows, is a very good way of generating energy. On earth it hasnt happened, but on other planets i think its possible that where there is intelligent life, it may a decendant of a photosynthesis using life form, and so would use it itself. I'm not sure as to how much energy its possible to obtain through this, so maybe it would need some other means of getting energy. But i'm sure there must be some way to create sources of light that emulate stars, which would allow for survival when they werent in view of the sun for long periods of time. Say in a craft or just living like we do indoors.
Maybe a more efficiant form of photosynthesis might have evolved, giving more energy than that what is found to happen in plants.

Oh and yeah i think that there is life elsewhere for sure, whatever form it takes. I remember reading a good description of how life was created on this planet, 'an almost utterly improbably event with almost infinite opportunities of happening'. It being very unlikely that on earth the right mix of molecules would encounter each other in the right way, but also there being a huge amount of time and these encounters always going on. This can apply to anywhere, not just earth.

I think it's highly possible that there is another life form out there. The universe is huge that there has to be another planet somewhere in another solar system that would be able to support some type of life. Now will we ever reach those life forms(if they theoretically exist)? No...we haven't harnessed the power to travel at light speed or faster, so we will never be able to reach them. Will they ever reach us? That is something nobody knows...but I sure as hell would like to find out.

Maybe there are.

They also scare me too (I'm talking about the little green men type)... sometimes when I was a little kid i couldnt dream at night and was scared because i feared that they would come during the night and take me...just watching one would scare the shit out of me... but i doubt they are very bad if they exist... they are just researching some stupid creatures they just discovered.

Not in our Galaxy. But there is a possibility that in the other galaxies there is a similar earth planet that can support life.

Which would you fear more, intelligent aliens landing, or dangerous wild aliens somehow arriving by accident? I would fear the intelligent landing more, because they could either be extremely dangerous and not let you know, while the wild ones could be assumed dangerous simply by the way they first act.

Plus, if the intelligent ones were hostile, they could plan much more dangerously.

Suppose some wild aliens were to somehow end up here (freak warp, asteroid, space research gone awry). What would be that result? Would the world unite, would the country of incident cover it up, would we not care if they weren't very threatening?

Have you heard of the planet Titan on the far side of this galaxy? it's one of Saturns moons I beleive, it's covered with cloud and no one yet knows what lies underneath this mysterious cloud. It's highly likely there are some kind of life forms on this planet, the thought excites me as I find space and other worlds fascinating.

The Nasa Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn and Titan is expected to tell us more later this year about this mysterious planet. I look forward to finding out.

Well we don't actually know if it would look like that at all, but it's orange... and that's a start!

I voted maybe. I hope there is intelligent life in space, it would be pretty cool, but I don't think they'd be invading... if they had mastered intergalactic travel I think they would have got over imperialism.

Thanks for the space pictures CR.

so everybody believes in martians but not in God?

thats fucked

whats an alien but like a slightly better version of a human? and whats God in comparison to that? complete stupidity. if you believe in aliens you're really just saying that you believe in inferior versions of God.

what about monocellular organisms on foreign planets? they're aliens! It doesnt have to be martians, it could be a plant life, protazoa, or bacteria, bear that in mind...
Btw, i heard of scilicon life forms, is this true, can anyone gimme a link to site or explain it?

mollecular organisms?

you mean like the MICRONAUGHTS?

a tiny race of intellectually superior and technolgically advanced species are still as difficult to believe in as I am holding them to be. regardless if whether or not they have their own 1970's comicbook and toy line.

aliens wouldn't actually have to be more advanced than us

somewhere out there there could be bacteria or animals or plants that evolved on another planet, they would be aliens

but if you mean do you believe there are organisms out there more advanced than humans that might possibly come to earth someday then I have to say no, it seems too unlikely

"so everybody believes in martians but not in God" hazard

yes, since statistics tell us there's a chance life evolved on another planet

statistics don't say there's a chance god exists

statistics might not, but LOGIC, the forebearer of stats proves that GOD does exist

ONTOLOGY itself is the logic of GOD, and it can only be useful as a logical format under the precept of the exist of GOD. check out St. Anselm or Descartes for more on this

how woud bacteria travel to earth? like some alien sneexes and it flies trhough space and then hits our planet? don't be so naive. only God could sneeze and project snot for such vast distances. and such bacteria would be like dominion or archangels or shit. I mean its God, right? so, under your own admission, even alien bactera is proof that God exists because the only way that bacteria could be found on earth would be if an alien, who could only be God, were to project such bacteria ( in the form of a sneeze ) whereby such bacteria would have to be godlike and would be angels and stuff because the bacteria woulkd be OF God.

I rest my case.
