Default Mexican residents take up arms against drug cartels

I'd post the text here as well but the device I'm on doesn't let me do that. If another mod or admin would copy & paste some of the text from the article into this post that would be much appreciated.

That's awesome, good for them. I hope they can resist the authorities trying to stop them.

That is a very good example of a community that does direct action and doesnt wait for careless, formal representatives, officials and law enforcers. The state doesnt react that much anyway, a state that is "efficient" in fighting crime is a paradox as the first crime done against its own people is the state authority and the rule of a bureaucratic elite over the masses. The state cares only when its rulership over the masses is endangered of being overthrown and not the well-being of the masses.

Good for them, I consider this a highly progressive development; I hope that they don't suffer any reprisals from the state or the cartels.

My biggest concern for them is infiltration by the cartels and brutal backlash.
