I don't have any essays to hand, but I'd be interested to read what other people have written and be of help if possible.

Would anybody be interested in having a stickied 'essay critique' thread, where people can upload their own (non-copyrighted or sensitive) essays that they might be doing at school or for a formal academic qualification or job (or just in their own time!) for people to analyse, critique and start a discussion on?
If so, i'm happy to upload some essays i've done over the past year, but i'd also be looking for a similar commitment from a few other users as well.
Please post in here if you're willing to do so, as this could then become a good discussion of contemporary issues.

Sounds like a good idea but my only concern would be that lots of universities now use the online plagiarism checkers like Turnitin, which could result in students here either being identified by their universities as users rev left (although this probably won't be that much of a problem in all honesty, but some may feel uncomfortable with it) or them being accused of plagiarism the same copy of their essay will produce searchable results. How about doing it in a private group or a mod could make a room private?
Goalkeeper: I had thought about that. I think a good solution would be to advise people to only submit essays that have either already been marked, or aren't summative in nature (i.e. something you might hand in informally to your tutor during a module, not a dissertation or anything!).
Above all, people can post at their own risk. It's not our responsibility to molly coddle people, so I don't think you'll see any private rooms to safeguard from plagiarism. This should be a community thing.
I'd really like to get people involved in this though, if at all possible.
