Post Suggestions Thread: Ideas and/or Concerns.

    Hey all,

I thought I'd make this thread for everyone who uses and contributes to our wonderful little subforum! My plan is to make this a 'space' for people to voice any ideas or concerns they might have, whether it be bringing new thoughts to the table for how we can make 'Upcoming Events' better, to any suggestions you might have concerning my own modding.

Feel free to also report any threads or users you think might be abusing the rules and general purpose of this subforum here. If you think somebody is breaking the rules (posting non related content, spamming, etc.), please let me know either in this thread or by PM. A link to the 'offending' thread or user in question should be provided as well.

    Thanks, and happy posting!

I thought it might be cool to have an opposing actions thread so that if any opposing ideologies like KKK members or Nazis hold a demonstration, some of us may be able to organize a counter protest. I don't know, how does that sound?

i used to move threads from here to ongoing struggles once they happened, if they were worthy of continued discussion

I meant even for smaller things, just for someone to say that they were bringing a group to protest the demonstration and that if anyone else wanted to attend they could (such as tea party rallies or anything like that).

that sort of stuff may be better for the anti-fa forum.

Hey all, if you know of a major event coming up feel free to PM me or post to this thread - I'll sticky it for you. Don't forget to include the necessary information, too (when, where, summary). I'm defining 'major events' as annual conferences, summer schools, book fairs, etc. Please remember this criteria before asking me to sticky something. Thanks!

Disallow copy pasted inbox news spam and disallow liberal news that isn't pertinent to a revolutionary discussion forum. Basically get rid of spam, if it's a new thread, some coherent contribution from the poster could be required.

For the sake of clarity I'll rundown my current, working understandings for these board issues:

    - I, in particular, am not allowed to post any news content anywhere on the board unless it's a part-of, and directly relevant-to, comments or positioning of my own on the same topic(s).

    - I don't *try* to post liberal-oriented news, but I won't *exclude* liberal news sources, either, just because any topical news article happens to derive from a liberal-oriented (or other) source of news. We revolutionaries should be knowledgeable enough to *parse* any given information to routinely discard any ideological-type emphasis and/or positioning.

It's not the source we are concerned with but the content of the news.

Then you should be *discussing* that news content.

the forum is for discussion about revolution/insurrection, not for discussion about liberal news

it's like you're coming onto this forum and claiming that the existent doesn't have enough representation in the real world

Agreed -- but if topical news is reproduced from liberal *sources*, it can be relevant and current *news*, and can even be discussed, without engaging in a liberal ideology.

I do appreciate this critique -- but *ignoring* major developments from the bourgeois world (Charlottesville, for example) is not healthy revolutionary practice, either. It can easily be ultra-left *abstentionism*, making revolutionaries look like grouchy benchwarmers.

The shit you post is inherently liberal in every way. It has no need to be discussed by revolutionaries.

Aside from your derogatory tone and predictable skewing, *thank you*. I'm glad you're now admitting that news posts don't *require* discussion, necessarily.

It really doesn't matter if the news is liberal or the source is liberal. Liberal topics can be discussed from a revolutionary perspective. I've said it a thousand times and I'll say it again: stuff that doesn't contribute to discussion doesn't belong on a discussion forum. CKhaihatsu wants to turn this into his own personal web site, as is clear from how he has violated multiple long-standing revleft policies just over the past week, so that it is basically no longer really a discussion forum but rather a place where he posts political "news" and then occasionally makes shitty political arguments in the marginal discussions that manage to peak up beneath the layers of his "news threads."

Of course, groups of people can break with the existing order, including liberal progress, and from that projects can emerge as activity that is immediately communist. You don't post any of that, and when the liberal news that you've posted becomes relevant to the forum, as was the case in the phoenix thread, you don't update the threads. The reason is because you're interested in shit quality liberal newsletter spam, and not revolutionary content. There is no bridge from the trash you post, to discussion relevant to the forum.

The 'news' you post is often for liberal events, advertising liberal praxis.

Like Charlottesville? You mean the c-ville thread that I created to harbor discussion that you tried to derail at least once with a massive news spam post? While I was in the c-ville thread, where were you aside from that one spam post? Were you making threads about 'major developments'? Where?

True -- this has been the implicit rationale undergirding many of my past news-article postings.

No, this is where you're incorrect, though -- I *haven't* broken with board policy.

Of course, groups of people can break with the existing order, including liberal progress, and from that projects can emerge as activity that is immediately communist. You don't post any of that, and when the liberal news that you've posted becomes relevant to the forum, as was the case in the phoenix thread, you don't update the threads. No, that's not correct. As I've said before, and BA just acknowledged, a *non-revolutionary* news source can still contain relevant, topical *information*. Non-revolutionary news and/or events don't automatically confer an ongoing *liberal* (for example) trajectory, because the content can be *re-interpreted* and also discussed from a *revolutionary* perspective.

Unfortunately much news of the real world is sourced by those who are politically closer to it -- nationalists and liberals, basically.

Like Charlottesville? You mean the c-ville thread that I created to harbor discussion that you tried to derail at least once with a massive news spam post? While I was in the c-ville thread, where were you aside from that one spam post? Were you making threads about 'major developments'? Where?

You're going to have to put more effort into your false statements because your interpretation is so skewed. I don't *want* to be brought-up-to-speed on your thread references, but that would be the *minimum*, regardless, for the baseless accusations you make on top of your faulty reasonings. In other words you're just not making your case, as usual.

    ---

This thread is getting too derailed into the usual rantings from the 'pushy say-so faction' and its crusade for internal dictatorial policy-making power here.

I'm going to start closing any new threads that are opened, as well as any pre-existing ones, that are used for faction-crusade rantings. Your faction does not get to use this board simply as a platform for your internal political agenda / crusade.

Any faction members who attempt to circumvent these thread closings will be handed warnings and then infractions.

    Thread closed.
