The one truth that sustains me is that they haven't won. However frustrated you feel, be comforted with the fact that the other side, the fascists and imperialists and capitalists, are also frustrated. Unfortunately, the world's states are in their pockets, but the world's people are not. Not all of them.

Find comfort in the fact that, all over the world, there are people who affirm the same views you hold; people with the same disdain for the old way, the barbaric way. We are out there

And frankly, nothing will change unless we remain vigilant. If we give up now, you can be 100% sure no good change will ever come. It's a war of attrition.

Regarding your locality, if you're old enough to move, you can think about that. I know it's not something you can just get up and do, though, so while you are there, always respect yourself and don't let yourself be bullied.

I believe that it's partly because of individualism that we feel like we can't do anything. We focus too much on ourselves -- even when we want to help others. We expect immediate results from our actions. If we don't experience the joy of people because of our actions personally, what's the use of it? We should not think like that. We should focus on the bigger picture.

I view myself as a neuron in a gigantic brain. Every neuron counts and all neurons are interconnected. Electric signals transfer from neuron to neuron just as ideas transfer from person to person. Starting from A you eventually reach Z. Do not block the signal -- pass it on instead.

Chaos theory also makes it understandable how a single person can contribute to the whole. Small influences in a chaotic system with many variables (such as society) can eventually have a strong impact on the whole.

One person usually can't do anything. That is why we join/form organizations so that we can build power.
