I've been resarching (or more trying to research), the village of Nanjie in China. I have so far only found one BBC article, a Wikipedia page and its website (in mandarin, which I can't read).

I've recently come across a discussion here that states that Nanjie, completely contrary to my information, is corrupt, in debt, reliant on migrants (who are treated poorly) and is basically a capitalist enterprise.

However, this discussion (as far as I read) did not post any links to any sites of this information. I would like it is some people could please post links to pages stating this, or if someone can retell their personal experiences from the village that expresses this. In the latter, I'd rather not hear from someone who visited the village as a tourist, but from someone who actually lived there.

Thanks to anyone who can answer this for me. I've been using it as an example in debates with anti-communists (as it seemed a better example than the Paris Commune), and what to either be sure that my arguments are valid, or just stop using it as an example.
