I loved DBZ when I was young (just like every other kid in the 90's) but for the most part I find amine difficult to follow and really strange.
Comrade Samuel: The defender of truth, justice and the un-American way.
I have two words.
Death Note
"The exploited are not carriers of any positive project, be it even the classless society (which all too closely resembles the productive set up). Capital is their only community. They can only escape by destroying everything that makes them exploited...Capitalism has not created the conditions of its overcoming in communism-the famous bourgeoisie forging the arms of its own extinction-but of a world of horrors." -At Daggers Drawn
"Our strategy is therefore the following: to establish and maintain a series of centers of desertion, or poles of secession, of rallying points. For runaways. For those who leave. A series of places where we can escape from the influence of a civilization that is headed for the abyss." -Tiqqun, Call
Fist of The North Star - If you like Martial Arts you should find this anime to be awesome. (In my opinion, FOTNS inspired the creation of DBZ, with it's fast-paced hand-to-hand combat)
Hajime No Ippo - Boxing. The main character is a shy high school kid & after an encounter with an elite boxer, falls in love with boxing & becomes a fighter himself. Great fights, great story, great anime.
Cowboy Bebop - One of the best animes of all time. Just check it out. (Especially if you're into the Sci-Fi genre)
Hellsing - A British military organization specializes in situations dealing with the supernatural. Their trump card is a vampire named "Alucard", (read the name backwards & you'll figure out who he really is). Lots of action, sprinkled with some comedy. Almost reminds me of Buffy.
That's all I can think of for now. I would recommend this manga called Berserk due to it just having a great story, however, I personally am annoyed by the "demon rape" & "tentacle porn" that's very prominent in Japanese culture.
akira, perfect blue, all of the ghost in the shell stuff, vampire hunter d and sequels, samurai champloo, elfen lied, green legend ran, everything by miyazaki, seriously but princess mononoke is a fav, armitage iii, neon genesis evangelion, record of lodoss war, patlabor, kite
'heavens above, how awful it is to live outside the law - one is always expecting what one rightly deserves.'
petronius, the satyricon
This.
Also Rozen Maiden and Hetalia are good if you don't mind the cuter stuff.
>anime
>good
...on that note, Legends of the Galactic Heroes is pretty much a perfect way to kill a week.

I pretty much hate all anime.
But I remember a while back watching some anime film on TV called "Blue Submarine No. 6" and thinking that it was not bad. But that's about it.
"Win, lose or draw...long as you squabble and you get down, that's gangsta."

Samurai X. Watch it. Learn it. Love it.

Have all of us really forgotten to mention Rurouni Kenshin?

My tastes... differ
This is a list of animu I've watched, sort it by score or something.
you kind of can't go wrong with gundam just because it's robots but I like 08th MS Team in particular. Instead of focusing on a bunch of super-soldiers, the protagonists are basically regular soldiers/gundam pilots.
Everything bcbm said is good. Fist of the North Star is good. Cowboy Bebop is excellent.
I also liked FLCL a lot
I'm on some sickle-hammer shit
Collective Bruce Banner shit

Antarysa isn't going anywhere as an organisation, but I think this is a col poster.
To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never, to forget

Only show listed so far that I liked, and I loved this show. I was into Naruto for a little while but that was just a phase in 6th grade. I always thought that anime was too melodramatic.
