I was thinking about the way our government is set up and i thought you would all be interested....

the US, it would seem, only has enough democracy to avoid a dictator. the power is still focused incredibly. watch:

one constitutional amendment requires 2/3 of all senates (state and federal) to have a 2/3 majority.

that works out to 4/9 of all US (state and federal) senators need to vote yes on an amendment.

there are 5100 senators in the US. 5100 times 4/9 is 2266.7

therefore it takes only 2267 people to amend the constitution

only 2267 people to take away any of the rights we all hold dear (an amendment can erase the freedom of speech or any other freedom)

there are 281,000,000 people in the US

that means it takes 0.0008% of the entire population of the united states of america to take way our freedoms

in my opinion, we should hesitate to call the US a democracy

There’s a lot of talk that bush didn’t even win the election, that he fixed it. But then I haven’t read too much into this claims. M. more talks about it in stupid white man, I’m not sure if he is a reliable source.

But even Kennedy sent the mob around to drum up votes when he was running for governor. So am not so sure about how democratic the us is.

Also the us preaches democracy abroad, but is quite happy to put in dictators if it serves them well example the Dominican republic, Chile the list goes on.
