Windows is a kind of symbol of real monopoly and it want to destroy all concurrents even if they are better.
But then the guerillas came, the opensource. MS hasnt been able to beat them.
Open Source has many leftist elements, mainly sharing and free (of freedom). I even once read that open source is communism on teh internet.
Linux is the biggest rebel of opensource. Day by day it gets better.
I wonder what do you guys think of this kind of software (open source)?
And who actually runs linux?

I've heard Linux runs better than Microsuck Winblows.

Possibly because the programmers actually wanted to do an operating system, rather than get this error coding out of the way to work on some screensavers.

Lol, so true! :P

Linux is a great system, no doubt about it. But Windows, unfortunately, have all but cornered the market. There are, as you say, many "communist" internet projects. You can download the code (for whatever it is) for free; if there are any bugs, you can either report them - or try and fix the damn things yourself! I haven't become a part of this as of yet, mainly because I can't write programming language!

Internet Explorer sucks too. Microsoft redirected me to their update page a while back and had me download the latest version of IE... The damn thing crashed 10 times in 2 days! Shocking! So I downloaded a free browser called "AvantBrowser" - which is infinitely superior and hasn't crashed once. Sodding Microsoft.

I belive some of the best programers in the world work together on it, its 100% customizable, and apprently has a lot fewer bugs than any Micro$oft Window$

I have always wanted to use linux but havent had the chance, as soon as i do i will

i'm not too computer savvy once you get into the technical side (code, etc.). i deal with the surface, apps etc., 99% of the time. i use apple computers and their OSX because of the originality and ease of use. i despise microsoft with a passion. that being said, i've never had an opportunity to use linux so i really can't form an opinion on it.

apple may be a capitalist corporation, but at least they don't have an unofficial monopoly over personal computers.

Damn things. My experience with them has been entirely negative. Almost as bad as Micro$oft!

The mac aint bad at all. Apple isnt working to destroy other companies, they made good product. But there is more future in linux. It much more easier to add and to make better. Development in opensource goes much and much faster.
The best linux distributions (not mentioning Slack and Debian, though they are one of the best too) are commercial as well, but they have to goals make a better product and stay alive (which means in this case making money).

And one tip for win/mac/linux user who have enough of popups and banners:
Get Mozilla Firebird (or mozilla 1.6), this one has default pop-up blocking and there is a plugin for blocking banners (adblock.mozdev.org). It makes surfing much better.

The only reason why Mac's are better than your standard window's shite is because they dont have many bugs, the reason they dont have many bugs is because they dont do anything... they suck.

Apple's native web browser (Safari) also has a built in pop blocker that works quite effectively. It even blocks the pop-ups for personal messages in this forum.
